TOOK FOREVER TO HANG BUT WORTH IT! May 08, 2010
By conoad I only gave this map three stars because 1- it did not come with the paste as the description states and we had to pay $30 for the correct paste to hang 2- this map was WAY larger than described! Finished dimensions were just shy of 14 feet by 9 feet.
We had to remove the bottom part of the map to fit onto the wall. It took us 2.5 hours to trim before install. Each of the 8 sections has a white border of approx .5 in that has to be removed to the edges match up. Make sure you have a large enough area to accommodate and a straight edge. Took 4 hours to install. You must let the paste sit on each panel for 10 minutes before hanging because they will expand about an inch. The other issue is as we were wiping the excess paste, the color was coming off onto our rag. We did trim our map with 1" trim to secure the edges as it is in a child's room.
I will say it looks amazing and I do not regret this purchase. More work than expected but be patient!

Little Hard to put up, but worth the work! Sep 24, 2009

OK, I'll admit I don't like reading instructions, and only decided to do so halfway through the install. However, once you put them up, and work out all the alignment issues, they really look great. In fact, the map is so big, that any small mistakes are barely noticeable. Overall took about 2.5hrs to install, and it really looks great. Gave our office an "african safari" feel... hehehe.
P.S. The trick to an smoother install is to glue the panel and wait 10 minutes before applying it because it actually grows when it absorbs the paste. The other trick is to use a large trowel tool to smooth out the air bubbles and excess paste. Good Luck!

Love this Jan 14, 2011
By Amy Lucey I was a little worried, having never even put up wallpaper. I spent a lot of time watching the how-to video from the company who sent the map. (enviromental graphics). Very helpful! From start to finish it took about 3 hours. Although, once I got the hang of it, it really went quickly. the hardest part, for me, was applying the glue - it's very forgiving and really easy.
The whole room it's in is TOTALLY transformed.
Yay!

Patience! Aug 03, 2011
By ddmcgrew First, I would not recommend doing this by yourself as I did. The panels are very large, and hard to handle by yourself. There is PLENTY of paste for this application. The only struggle I had was that during the drying time, one of the panels started sticking to itself too much, and I almost lost that entire panel. Put the paste on thick, and you won't have that problem. There was one panel that didn't line up with the other panels as well as I was expecting, but upon final installation, it isn't very noticeable. (unless you are the installer!)
To save time, I pasted a panel, waited about 8 minutes, then pasted the next panel, so that the next one was drying while I was installing the previous one.
I love the look of the room with it, and would recommend it.

better than expected, looks good Aug 24, 2007
By S. Belaire Installed ok, ripped it once but given that it had been placed and adjusted a few times it to be expected. Be certain you want to top or bottom if you have a 8ft ceiling.
