Cross your Fingers Jun 17, 2011
By Prussiaredux The Situation:
The manufacturers of this item apparently enjoy employing small and mentally challenged packing elves. The table arrived in a box that was not even taped together, the box top practically falling off the base. I held my breath anticipating a bad end to such an eagerly anticipated product. I opened it up to find perhaps the poorest packing known to man, this is real wood and finely finished which makes it sad that pakcing material of the thinnest ilk was all that stood in the way of the finely stained wooden to and base and the outside world. Liklely to buffeted and battered by some ups guy name Bob who would have to practice his ballernina like dexterity to gingerly place this product into any truck or plane for shipping. Mine shipped from Pennsylvania.
The result:
Considering the above I'm actually shocked that the item managed to survive the long journey relatively unscathed. here was some scuffing on the underside of the table top, I oculdn't tell if it was from inartfully applied stain or the poor packaging materials. There seem to be some minor scratches on the curved piece of the table top, barely noticeable and could be poslished out I think. This item definitely has a a bit of a rustic look which I find charming but some many not.
Assembly:
Fairly straightfoard actually, not exactly German engineered parts but the screw holes all lined up and the tools provide worked well enough though my own set speeded up the process. This project is labeled for two people but can be done by one person. The one tricky thing is to remeber that the legs attach at an agle so if a leg doesn't look like its fitting right, try other legs until the right angle is made, the legs seem to fit only one way. Aslo there is a secondary washer whcich can make up for any gaps, but don't overtighten.
Product:
I like this table, assuming it ships well and you don't have to return it for damages, its very serviceable, a nice color and most of it seems to be real wood, not sure about the legs, which is nice. I live in a studio so it maches wood floors my persian rug and cofee colored couch, also a nice medium size.
I'd give it 4 stars but the poor packaging may make it like russian Roulette to survive unscathed.

Big value for little money Jul 07, 2010
By Renee I was leary of this table as some of the reviews indicated poor shipping and assembly difficulty. The box arrived very crushed, but the table parts were fine. I had trouble with one of the leg bolts, ordered new bolts, but was still unable to insert one bolt so I left it off. The table is stable. I reread the reviews and saw another customer with the same issue. The hole that you screw the bolt into seems to be the problem. The table is very attractive. Beautiful REAL wood. Great style and fits my area perfectly.I called to ask about the shipping issues and was told(by a nice person) the the tables are packed abroad and they have no control over the packing. I was lucky and I am happy I made this choice. Many of the inexpensive tables are made of MDF and not real wood. I always want a lot for my money and I think I got it in this beautiful piece of furniture.

Solid. Some poor design issues. BAD packaging for shipping Mar 25, 2010
By J. Oz The coffee table arrives in 6 pieces. A table top, 4 legs, and a shelf. It also comes with assorted screws, washers, and wrenches for putting it together. The directions are easy to follow and the pictures are clear. My table had one leg that was not made very well. The leg is not able to sit flush with the table because the holes in the leg are not aligned with the holes in the table for the screws. It took me three times as long to attach it in comparison to the other three which were very easy to do. Overall assembly time with the messed up leg took me two hours. Someone with more hand strength would probably be able to complete this faster.
I would have given this a 4 star review if the table had not arrived damaged. The corner was broken off because the packing was NOT adequate for the safe shipping of a wood product.

Bigger than I expected, but as nice as I imagined it and fit together nicely. Was easy to put the legs on. Careful if you don't have much space as this is not a small table (measure twice, order once heh). I ended up using it under a window in the living room and decided I didn't really want a coffee table. There's a nice matching end-table for this too.
Exquisite Item Feb 25, 2012
By Happygolucky This coffee-table is an exquisite piece and adds grand look to our big family-room which has two sets of couches in dark brick color. I was looking for a matching table with a different look for my family room and luckily I found this piece. Though the rate seemed to be a little on the 'high-price-side' we ordered it for it's look and beauty. We were not disappointed when we got it except that while taking out of the truck the delivery man got the box fully opened while handling it. But all the parts were intact and the assembly also was easy.
