This bed is SOLID oak, except for the slats that the mattress rests upon and the center support beam that give additional support to the slats.
Well engineered and easily assembled.
Two concerns:
(1) I weight 240lbs at 6'3". Larger beds have a center support rail that splits the bed long-wise, which is necessary for the larger beds and thus longer slats. The problem is that the center support is not strong enough and sags. I built a small center support that goes from the center of the rail support to the floor, and now it does not sag.
(2) Almost silent, but not quite. It still creaks, but very little. Long ways motions, from headboard to foot board direction ARE almost silent. It's side to side motions that make a little noise, but it's not really noticeable. It groans a little, but doesn't squeak. It's does not keep me awake or wake me and I'm a fairly light sleeper.
One star off for the middle support rail not being strong enough. Other than that, it's GOOD QUALITY, even at such a nice price. I have no problem with the finish. It's a pretty, solid, heavy wood, and the frame looks nice in the room. A very clean and modern design.

Easy to assemble in just a few minutes - all parts including the only tool needed - a hex wrench is included. The frame has little 'stops' that keep the slats stretched tight and in place - no need to screw the slats down (cleaver). It is very sturdy and is nice and high off the floor allowing for easy vacuuming and under the bed storage. Looks great. A really nice added bonus is that it is solid oak and made in the USA (Pennsylvania). Ikea can not compare with the quality and price of this bed (- been there done that).

I am completely satisfied with this product and with the service I received from the manufacturer. Shortly after I placed my order, the manufacturer e-mailed me to let me know that there would be a brief delay in getting the oak to make my bed. They gave me a forecast of the new delivery date and offered me the option to cancel the order or go with the new date. They also assured me that my credit card would not be charged until the product shipped.
I chose to go with the new date and the bed was delivered on the date forecast. It was beautifully made, easy to assemble, and is very comfortable. I'm also very pleased with the price.

I was glad to receive my purchase in a timely manner - in two compact boxes. I was not expecting the superb quality in craftmanship since the price was very much reasonable. My expectations were greatly exceeded. Setup was less than 20 minutes - using tools & included hardware. Very pleased with item - especially for the price.

Queen Size Platform Bed fits together well but quality of finish leaves a lot to be desired. Some unfinished areas on wood that had to be sanded. Different color oak from board to board. Colors did not match.
