Heavy-weight, Beautiful, Balanced Silverware Mar 30, 2009
By H. Ritchey You will not be disappointed with this flatware! It is sturdy, has a nice heavy-weight feel, great balance, beautiful set that can be dressed up or down, and cleans up easily in the dishwasher. Knives are sharp enough that my steak knives are gathering dust. Spoons are sturdy enough that I don't bother with an ice cream scoop because these won't bend a bit.
Maybe it's the by-product of too many years eating with cafeteria silverware and hand-me-downs, but when I went shopping for a new set of flatware, I knew that I wanted something that felt substantial in my hands. I went to the local Bed, Bath and Beyond, and picked up every knife from their various display sets to find one that didn't feel flimsy or awkward to hold. As soon as I picked up the Wave knife, I knew that I'd fallen in love (I didn't know that was possible with flatware). Each piece is balanced wonderfully, and the handles are comfortable in your grip. Amazon had a much better price, so I bought online, and had the benefit of knowing that these are so much more impressive in person than they initially appear online.
If you are only going to buy one set of flatware, I recommend the Wave. It is sturdy and dishwasher safe, making it great for everyday use, but it looks striking laid out on my dining table with good china as well. I've received lots of compliments on this set.
Very highly recommend! Best silverware for the price, hands down.

flatware review Feb 14, 2010
By Tatiana im very picky about my silverware and just recently rid myself of a great set because i purchased this Wave flatware. I am fond of a rounded handle because i want to be able to fork cut something on my plate without the handle digging into my other finger. This flatware exceeded my expectations for quality and looks. I am not fond of having to put them in the dishwasher (handwashing them creates finger prints/smudges on the handles) but they come out shiny perfect everytime. i am using these as everyday silverware but for some people it'd be the "good silverware" to put away for special occasions. I did, however, have to purchase another (bigger) set from another website because my family is larger than most and amazon did not have the 42 piece. I am happy with this product and Amazon shopping. [...]

Not worth the price Aug 26, 2010
By Stumped First a quick bit of information about the product that doesn't seem to be listed (at least at the time of this review). This is 18/0 stainless and although Towle is an American company, the set is manufactured in China. Those bits of information aside....
Being 18/0, this set is overpriced. 18/0 is the cheapest of all SS flatware and can be found much cheaper in another brand, even here on Amazon. The set itself is pretty bland looking and I wouldn't use it for anything other than to send with a child to college.
Anyway, if you are looking for cheap flatware, you can find a better deal than this. If you are looking for good flatware, you can find much better than this. Look at sets that are 18/10 or at minimum 18/8. They will cost a little bit more, but they will last longer, wear better, and be more resistant to tarnishing.
I bought this set as a "Gold Box" deal to send with a nephew to college. At the GB deal price it was only slightly over-priced so I didn't mind taking a shot on it based on the reviews (which I'm not sure why are all 5 star.....). But again, look elsewhere if you are just looking for a cheap set, you can find just as good/bad (18/0) for cheaper.
Good luck!

not the best set Jul 03, 2011
By K. Hill I love the feel of this simple, yet elegant set. However, within a very short time of owning this set the pieces seem to be falling apart. It looks like the silverware is actually a silver coated plastic, and some of the silver has come off.

Beautiful, feel like you are holding something substantial. The design is modern and unique. We LOVE the smaller 2nd spoon and fork. If you do not like small spoons then don't buy this set, but for us the spoon and fork offer a more realistic serving. The knife is sharp and cuts well. And they can be washed w/out worry in the dishwasher. GREAT buy!
