First thing I've gotta say is: shame on me for not really looking at the height for these. They're pretty short! But my fault for not thinking about that. A washcloth fits better than a handtowel (handtowel being too long). But I did realized that I can tilt the rings into an upright position and they stay there, so then I could put in the handtowels with the extra verticle space from doing that, and that works fine.
The other thing I need to say is that I ordered two of these stands. One is great, but the other one is all loose where the stand attaches to the base. I tried just screwing the stand post tighter, but it just spins. The bottom of the base has a felt pad glued on, which is great to prevent scratches to the countertop, but I'm going to have to pull it off to take this apart to tighten it up. Hope that works, other wise the wobble it has makes it seem really junky.
So -- a hit and a miss on this item.

I wanted this for a hand towel. It's too short. I may use it for a dish towel in the kitchen or send it back. Wish I could find one that was the right height!

This is a handy towel stand to place near a sink. It looks nice and does the job. I wish the base were weighted a bit more to give it added stability. All in all, though, I'm happy with this purchase.

Just like it looks! Works great, fits fingertip towels best. You can also double fold handtowels to fit heightwise, but the fingertip towels look and work better.

I purchased two of these as my hubby stole the first one for the bathroom. They work exactly like they're suppose to and look nice doing it. No holes drilled into the walls of the new house so hubby is happy to.
