Not happy... smelly! Nov 02, 2011
By D. Bradshaw I have been using different ScotchBrite sponges for years and years. But now they seem to be treated with something (or NOT treated) but they begin to smell immediately. Yes, I know about dipping them in chlorine, zapping in microwave, putting in dishwasher... and I do that when I need to. But, before, I could go weeks before that was necessary. Now, it takes about 2 days before they STINK! Stink to the point where after I use them my hands smell for hours, and the smell is transferred to the counter. I haven't changed my routine, but the sponges are disgusting to smell. Kind of a rubbery, musty smell, but very strong. I don't know what has changed, but I am very unhappy!

Gooey Cheese? No problem! Sep 20, 2009
By Bob Lund I've been using the other Scotch-Brite pads with the green scrubbie surface for many years and Loved Them! They never scratched my pots or pans - as a matter of fact, that was the reason I started using them instead of steel wool or other abrasive pads.
But the real downside to the green Scotch-Brite pads is GOOEY CHEESE! Nothing can destroy the green Scotch-Brite pads faster than a lasagna pan or caserole dish with melted cheese in it. The cheese would heat up in the hot water I use for cleaning and would stick to the green pad - little or no way to get it out. May as well just throw it away and get another.
I gave these blue "Non-Scratch Scotch-Brite Scrub Sponges" a try.
What a surprise when I tried them on gooey cheese. These blue Scotch-Brite pads - SURPRISE - the cheese doesn't cake on to them. If some does get into the pad, it comes out by the end of the dishes.
Looks like I'm switching to these Non-Scratch pads! Thanks Scotch!

Great but Cheaper at Costco Jul 05, 2010
By K. Scherrer
"green thumbs and full tummies"
I just came from costco and bought a 16 pack of these for $11.79. I love shopping from amazon, I love the fact that things can be much cheaper than store bought. Sometimes Amazon can be more expensive than store bought, this is one of those incidents. Also sponges are supposed to be replaced often so thank goodness these things fall apart. To make you change your sponge more regularly. Great product. So gentle I use it to scrub little stains that sometimes gets my wooden floors. If not for the price this would be given 5 stars.

It Ain't What It Use to Be ! Oct 25, 2011
By A. R. McLean
"OLEWISEOWL"
I use to swear by these things til you(3M) changed the design and make up of them!
I noticed a few weeks back when I needed a new package of Scotch-Brite's, something was different about the new ones. Old ones had a textured surface on the sponge side (but not no more),and then the blue scrubber seem different as well.
It does not clean ,like it use to do ! Nor does it stand up to normal use like the old ones did.
I am not going to pay for top quality and to get seconds throw away items(@#$%).
These are just junk ,fall apart and split apart within a week ,which has never happened before with me . I use to wear them out but never did they ever separate like these new ones do.
I will not be buying Scotch-Brite, I do better buying the stuff at a dollar store, lease I know what to expect.

Good sponge, lasts fairly long Mar 08, 2011
By Ali Julia I have a tried a few sponges, but keep coming back to this one. I like the that it has two sides with different surfaces. One side is rough and one side is soft, I use both various types of dish scrubbing. This sponges lasts fairly long (several months each) even though I microwave them for 1 minute periodically to sanitize them.
A studies shows that zapping sponges in the microwave kills bacteria, such as E. coli, that can cause illness. It is better than putting them in the dishwasher.
I noticed that the price on the on this product fluctuates and sometimes run a bit high. There is a nice online tool that I use to help catch a good price on Amazon, this tool is called "Online Price Alert". This tool will send you an email when the Amazon item price reaches the target price range that you specify. If you search on "online price alert" in Google it will be come up at the top. I find this tool to be very helpful.
