 Could be more heavy on the heavy-duty? Nov 30, 2007

I was expecting the clipboard to be a bit more heavy-duty than it actually is. The aluminum isn't very thick, and although I haven't bent it yet, I'm basically just waiting for the day when this happens.
But it's true: there is indeed a clear layer of something-or-another covering the surface, which helps protect it against scratches, etc., and the clip is pretty strong. The clipboard is light and fits perfectly into my backpack. I actually use it all the time in class, despite desks and tables, since I am a leftie and sometimes taking notes can be difficult when there's already an open book eating up the space in front of you.

As a medical student, I bought this to fit in the pocket of my white coat as a hard surface to write on during morning rounds. The clipboard itself seems fantastic: very sturdy, really strong clip that could hold a ton of papers. But it's not 5.75"; it's actually 6.5", which happens to be too large for my coat pockets.
Too bad, but they really should be more accurate, especially since for people like me the actual size is very important.

the edges are a little sharp but not uncomfortable in hand. can hold a decent amount of paper, the retaining bar is quite strong and grippy. lightweight for its durability.

Excellent product - 5 of 12 arrived damaged Dec 30, 2010

Could not ask for a better product. We have looked for months for an 8 1/2" X 14" aluminum clipboard for the junior pistol team . . . . strong, low profile clip, light weight, but very sturdy. The product was perfect, but no care was given by the shipping vendor who shipped damaged product. It was promptly replaced and shipped "loose," in a box, again, but fortunately they were O.K.
