The pink and purple pictured in the Tropical Seas are not accurate. The set is more like stained or lightly painted wood. The purple makes the legs look dark purple. The pink stain makes the drawers look sort of pink, but you call still see the wood underneath. The picture shows even bright color throughout and it's not like that in person. I am disappointed with the appearance of this desk as compared with the picture. There were no directions for the chair in my box and you have to drill your own holes and get creative to put both the desk and chair together. Not a novice project.

The desk and chair are sturdy. The assembly was not too hard but we could use a few pre-drilled holes on the boards. My husband kind of complained about that. The colors are less vivid/bright than I had imagined. But it's still a nice-looking set of furniture for a kid's room. Love the shapes of the fish/star fish.
This set is actually quite high for my 5 years old and I have to put a cushion on the chair for her. I believe she can continue to use it till she's much older, say 15.

My son did his home work on our kitchen table, that is once we got him to get started.
Then my wife said maybe if he had is own desk he might be more motivated,and so he did and so he was.
We were pleased about that, and please with the desk. It was very well made, all wood, and you don't see that much in children's furniture, an the Trucks design theme is "All Boy" and he really likes that.

I ordered this because I liked the colors and design in the pictures. However, it came with a missing back-support for the chair and the decoration fish. I ordered a replacement and that too was missing the chair piece. Moreover, the replacement set had colors that were distinctly faded/washed as compared to the first one. The first one also had a repaired joist (for want of a better word) underneath the table top. I have pictures that I will upload once I figure out how.
The packaging had styrofoam that was aching to crumble. Made a mess at my house entrance. I was sorely disappointed since I had great expectations, having liked the design and colors so much. I wish they would put in just a little more effort. This can be a big seller.
I must say though that Amazon customer service is amazingly good. I am a Prime member and the only inconvenience I faced was the effort I put in to repack everything.
