Half bottle decantor Jan 21, 2003
Buyer beware! This is being advertised here as easily holding a 750 ml bottle of wine. Yes, it will hold one 750 ml bottle but it is actually intended to be used as a 375 ml, 1/2 bottle personal decantor not a 750 ml bottle decantor (according to Reidel - discovered after receiving the product).

I bought a second one May 20, 2004
By Mike Garrison This decanter handily holds 750 ml (one bottle), but it has the most surface area at 375 ml. So if you are wanting a decanter to get rid of bottle sediment or just to be used as a serving implement, this is great. And cheap, too.If you want to get the maximum aeration, you'll have to choose a different decanter. I recently bought a second one, and was interested to see how rose-colored my first one is in comparison to the second one. These are inexpensive, so it is probably worth it to have one that you reserve for whites and one you use for reds. It's very hard to clean the red wine color out, even using a bottle brush.

Good Decanter for the price Dec 30, 2002
By John R Bierly This is an excellent decanter - the shape allows for easy handling and it is an excellent value. I have two and would recommend this decanter to anyone requiring a simple decanter.

Small decanter -- definitely not designed for full bottles. Apr 29, 2005
By Kathryn Richardson This is a lovely decanter -- but it was never meant for serving a full bottle. I use it to serve not-so-leftover wines (the Vacu-vin is great) or when one person wants red and another wants white. It also holds the rest of the bottle after the first glasses are poured (or if you poured from a large bottle or jug) -- and it looks much nicer on the table.

Great for wine and other uses May 27, 2005
By Suzanne Plambeck Yes, it is made to be a decanter for half bottles, but yes it does easily hold a full bottle. What I use this decanter for is to have a nice presentation of the wine at dinner. So, I decant it then pour 2 to 4 glasses, and the rest of the wine sits in the decanter on the table until it is consummed. If you use it in the same manner, you do not have to worry about the size (but again, it fits an entire bottle so do not fret about size unless you need maximum air contact). I also bought a second one and use it as a water pitcher to have at the table, and guests love it.
