nice but rough around the edges Jul 01, 2008
By Christina Vasilakis for the price, this was definantly worth it. it isnt high quality, but if you're like me, just starting out in a tight place, with limited funds, this is perfect. it does have low edge corners and i have so many bruises to show for it!! (that comes with the tight living quarters!) storage drawers are great! very roomy and if you watch clean house you know how to make things fit!! i would definanlty recommend this for someone who needs the space and is low on the flow. :o)

is it worth? Jan 03, 2010

I bought this to save money. The exterior parts are strong. But the interiors especially the drawers are too fragile. Two of them already had a crack. It took me 8 hrs to assemble this bed and head board. The instructions are not so clear. So i assembled the headboard in the opposite direction(bottom part facing forward and the upper facing backward): ). So there was some extra work! Next time i may be able to do in 5hrs-may be!
I spent almost $600. I am not sure this is a good decision. If all the parts are equally strong, i would be happy. Anyway lets see how long it last

Flimsy, poor design, missing parts Nov 21, 2010
By E. Kelch Bottom line: our -new- bed BROKE when we lifted it to reposition it a few inches. Two of the cross-pieces under the mattress snapped, and a drawer track lost alignment.
I read others' reviews before purchasing, and I knew Prepac furniture had some problems. But I really wanted a storage bed with a bookcase headboard, and I had a hard time finding one. I figured we could handle the assembly issues.
CONS:
-The flimsy bed broke.
-The bed and headboard height aren't designed for use of a box spring. A box spring is really helpful to give a more solid and comfortable feel to the mattress, which otherwise rests on slats. But if you add the box spring, the bed gets so high that pillows block the front of the headboard shelves.
-Two of the three kits we ordered were missing parts (storage bed, bookcase headboard, 5-drawer chest). Prepac was responsive on the phone, but it was a few weeks before the reordered parts arrived.
-The bed's drawers don't hold much. Each drawer is 1/3 of the bed wide--they don't meet in the middle and use all the space. Plus, the drawers are shallow. In one drawer I could fit two bulky sweaters and not much more.
-The drawers have no handles, so you have to pry them open, or attach your own handles that stick out. It's not that hard, but a carved-out handle would have been ideal.
PROS:
-Inexpensive.
-The kit arrived quickly.
-The furniture is not large, so it fits well in smaller rooms.
