Works much better than the older steel pair I had for the grill. Makes grilling more enjoyable & is long enough to avoid flare-ups, etc... Would buy again.

When you need these to be simple kitchen tongs, in a non-stick pan or with small, hot, ceramic dishes or filled canning jars dripping with steaming hot water, these tongs do a neat lifting job and stay pretty. When you're 5 feet tall and need to put canning jars on shelves close to the ceiling, or want to put a package on a top bedroom shelf they also do an admirable job.

I purchased these green silicone tipped tongs at Amazon where I like to combine small items with large ones to save shipping charges.

I bought these 16" silicone tongs to use with our grill, after being so impressed with, both, the 9" and 12" silicone gripper tongs made by Progressive International. Just like the 9 and 12 inch tongs, this 16" pair is made of a sturdy steel construction that feels balanced in the hand. The design of the silicone-covered steel "grabbers" securely grabs and holds items. The solid steel inner frame goes all the way to the tips of the silicone covered grabbers creating a firm grip even at their very tips, and the angled lines that are molded onto the inside surface of the silicone grippers aid is holding items securely. Also, the silicone padding on the hand area adds to the comfort and attractiveness of using these solidly built tongs. The 16" length is perfect for grilling, and these are replacing a set of all steel 16 inch tongs that have been in service for about 10 years but are not as solidly made as these new International Progressive silicone gripper tongs.
