No Metal Glides Aug 09, 2004
By S. Hilger I bought this for my two daughters who share a room. Space wise, it's great. The description of the item says it slides out on metal glides which is not true. The glides are actually nylon.

major assembly required Jul 20, 2010
By Jason

This Prepac 7 Drawer chest came completely unassembled. I am very handy but it took a great amount of time: reading instructions, and putting all the drawers together. Not for the adverage Mom or Pop to assemble. This is a major assembly project!

Not bad for the price Jun 15, 2010
By James Wilson The top was misdrilled but the rest went together as shown. Not sure how sturdy it would be for heavy use but just for occasional storage ok

reasonably durable, poor rollers Sep 14, 2011
By C. Wright Purchased this dresser to put inside a closet, its slim dimensions fit perfectly. I was actually kind of impressed with the thickness of the materials used. If anyone has used inexpensive dressers before you probably know that the bottoms of the drawers are usually a piece of cardboard stuck to the bottom, these are actually fairly durable pieces of mdf. They are also fitted on all sides by a notch in the drawer sides, making them more sturdy. The finish does have a tendency to chip off, leaving the mdf inside exposed (just be careful when assembling). By far the biggest downside is that the drawer rollers are quite poor. I shouldn't really call them rollers, it is just a plastic rail that the wood slides upon, no rollers at all. It kind of works, but doesn't allow a very smooth opening and closing. I have decided for myself that this is fine and I will continue using the dresser. In addition, the slim nature of this dresser means that if items are not distributed throughout the unit, that it can tip over (it does come with a bracket to mount on the wall if this is an issue). Also note if you are not aware, essentially you will receive a box of wood, so if you are not prepared to do a fair amount of assembly be warned.

Two Go Prepac Mar 12, 2010
By J. Barbieri After having to send back the first chest which arrived broken, the chest was easy to put together and serves the purpose for which it was brought. I would not buy another prepac as it was difficult to package the return as the package weighted over 70 lbs and took two people to complete the job for UPS.
