Way better than screen strainers - works better and adds a touch of class. Mar 10, 2009

I wasn't expecting much, but the Good Grips sink strainer is way better than a conventional plug strainer or a screen strainer. And, unlike the previous reviewer, this thing fits my drain perfectly with no centering required. Plus, with it's stainless ring and black strainer, it looks great - really great.
Here's how it's better than the screen type strainer and the plug strainers I've used before: 1) Much easier to clean. Pull it out and almost everything falls clear. The screen tends to cling to small debris requiring some serious spraying. The silicon and larger holes allows this to come clean immediately. 2) The wider steel rim looks awesome and makes the silicone collar lie totally flat. It also allows all those scraps friction-free transit to the basket. Since there's silicon all the way under the collar, it clings well to the drain. 3) The center pull - allow you to invert the drain basket to empty it, and also allows you to remove it from the drain without having to pry up an edge or get your fingers in the yucky stuff.
What a cool little thing.
Simple, well-designed, and it works. Mar 20, 2012
By G. B. HENDELL Another quality OXO product. Stailess steel edge is machined nicely so the device sits flush to the bottom on the sink.

By R. P. DUNCAN EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH IT, IF YOU NEED THAT SORT OF THING. WELL THAT WAS ONLY ELEVEN WORDS, BUT THIS MAKES IT ENOUGH .
Worth every penny! Jul 04, 2010
By ang I used to have the regular metal strainer. When I moved I lost it and could only find this one at the store. It seemed expensive but I didn't want to make another stop so just bought this one. Boy am I glad I did! This this is 100% better than a regular strainer. Best part is that it flips inside out so it only takes a second to rinse food out. And it doesn't stick to the silicone. So quick and easy. I never thought I could get so excited about a sink strainer but I am like a salesman anytime anyone notices it I tell them how great it is. Small gadget but big difference in your daily chores.

By C. Kaufman I read about this strainer here on Amazon before I bot it. One review/er (which I can not locate now) mentioned they were on septic/well and this strainer let a lot of 'stuff' thru. I was a little leary after reading that being in the same position. Thus I am writing this to say I don't find this to be the case at all. It works excellently - and I'm pretty picky about such thngs.
Actually it is likely the best strainer I've ever had (at 60+ years) and looks super in my black silgranit sink.
Highly recommended
