A nice, basic set Nov 06, 2006
By lainibug I received this set as a wedding gift, and I have enjoyed them both in the kitchen and on the table. They're attractive, and I like the size, which is on the smaller size for nice mill/shakers. The pepper mill grinds well, and I believe the maker extends a guarantee on the mechanism.

Didn't Last Jan 17, 2011

"What's all the hub, bub?"
Lasted about 6 months before the pepper grinder stripped at the top screw and salt shaker started turning green just from using sea salt.

Attractive, but function needs work Apr 18, 2011
By Weliz I really wanted to like this set. They are very nice looking and even though they are plastic they don't look "cheap." However both the salt shaker and the pepper grinder have issues with control. The salt _pours_ out of the shaker, you have to hold it just right and shake it just right to only get a little salt, and to get it spread out lightly instead of all in one area. The pepper grinder seems to go from kind of coarse to really coarse, with no real fine setting. I could live with that, but it also dumps the whole quantity directly onto a very small area, instead of spreading it out. So it is ok if you just need to get the pepper into a pot on the stove before stirring. But for seasoning your food on the plate or seasoning a cut of meat before cooking you need much better directional control than this. After a few uses I found myself reaching for my grocery-store-bought McCormick pepper grinder, which has 3 grind settings and actually does a better job than this.

Great table salt shaker and pepper mill Jul 26, 2010
By T. Zane Used one at my daughters, liked the feel unit and the efficiency of the pepper mill. Came home and bought a set and use it daily. Great unit.

Why I like my salt shaker and pepper mill. Jul 16, 2010
By suzieQ I very much like the solid feel of these shakers. They are nice to hold. The pepper mill is just the right size for the table, unlike some of the more bulky large ones. My only complaint is a slight one. The salt shaker dispenses the salt a little heavily, so one must be careful to not over-salt your food. On the plus side, they are attractive and can be used for special dinners as well as every day use.
