Great gft for new mothers Mar 05, 2008

I love the Green and Blue Tooli's!!! I received them as a gift from my sister after the birth of my son. They come in very handy for that middle of the night feeding and diaper change. They are bright enough to see what you are doing, but do not alert my son to keep him awake after he eats. I also love their design and their easy recharge base.

defective--and oxo would not honor warranty Apr 27, 2009

I read the reviews here with the warnings about the batteries, but thought these lights were so cute and so perfect for late night feedings that I ordered them anyway. Bad choice. I followed the instructions exactly but from the very beginning the green lantern was faulty--wouldn't hold a charge at first, and then once it did charge it would shut itself off automatically (the blue one charged nicely and stays lit so I know how they're supposed to work--the green definitely has something wrong with it, but I had no luck convincing Oxo of that fact). I contacted Oxo to ask for a replacement. In return I got an email with a Word document attachment that was vaguely insulting. It contained a preface obviously intended only for customer service reps that implies that customers are stupid. (Not sure why they sent this out to me). Their "troubleshooting" advice included such valuable tips as make sure the unit is plugged in, etc. I contacted them again asking for a new battery for the green lantern (since the vaguely hostile "troubleshooting" "manual" made it clear they would not replace an entire unit) and never heard from them again. I'm shipping it back to amazon tomorrow for a refund. I give the lanterns 2 stars instead of just 1 since they really are cute, and the light would be perfect for a nursery if the things worked properly. Maybe you'll be lucky. Other caveats: they're only 6 inches high and require a little bit more maintenance (regular draining/charging/draining of the battery) than a nightlight really should.

Grandsons love these Feb 23, 2008

Whenever our grandsons sleep over, at age 3 & 4, they love their OXO Candela night lights. They can safely handle these portable lights and they know the lights will come on whenever there is a power outage at our house. These are safe, practical night lights for children's rooms, and another great solution from OXO.

Adorable -- but look for them at Marshalls! Sep 11, 2009
By J. Agro I fell in love with these lights the second I saw them, but there was no way I was paying $50 for them. One lucky day, however, I found them at Marshalls (they had the orange and pink AND the blue and green versions) for $13. What a steal! They look adorable in our babies' pink and orange nursery.
They work better than I expected. When you take one off of the cradle, it lights up. You can push the button on the bottom to turn it off if you want. When we lost electricity in the house one night, they automatically lit up (since they were no longer being charged). They're pretty cool!
Before you buy these online, I'd go to your local Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Home Goods first.

Kids love these Mar 06, 2009
By April J. Carman We were so tired of the little cheap night lights and also worried about the safety of them. We bought night lights with cages around the light bulbs, but they would fall off and I didn't like having the bulbs down low where the kids play during the day.
We haven't had these Tooli's for long, but they were an immediate hit. Each kid has one and takes a Tooli to bed, it glows all night long, and then they have to return it to the charger in the morning. They are cool to touch, smooth, safe and so far unbreakable (not sure how many drops it can take... we might find out).
The light is bright, but not bright enough to wake them up.
