I got this for $20 shipped from JcPenney. The trays are just the right size for a family of 3, like Chinese buffet on the table in the winter. I prefer the small size since I am using it everyday, not just holidays.
Update: The covers cannot handle the heat and that would be a design flaw (=> 1 star deducted). All three covers had cracked after one-month use.

This is a very attractive stainless steel Buffet Server. We used it a couple of times over the Holidays, and it worked out quite well. It kept the hors d'oeuvres nice and worm and at a safe temperature. We received quite a few complements from company on the server. Most people don't have one of these in there home, so it is somewhat of a novelty. So much nicer to have hot snacks plus the old standard chips & dips, crackers & cheese and the other cold snacks that it seems every one serves.
I originally thought I could also use this as a server on the dinner table, but the 1 1/2 quart bins seem to small to serve 4 or more people. Plus you cant pass the bins around on a sit down meal since they are to hot. Best to take the bins off, and just use the hot plate underneath to put your serving bowls on. You would probably need the 2 1/2 quart size if you wanted this for a dinner buffet. The only negative I have so far is the clear plastic covers that go over the bins don't have a slot in them to keep a serving spoon in. You have to put them elsewhere, which seemed a bit awkward to me. But all and all this server worked out nicely for us.

This is a good warmer/buffet server. You can tell it's pretty cheaply made, but in general, it gets the job done. I've used it 2-3 times now, recently purchased. Made an excellent taco bar for a party, and also worked well for a brunch buffet for another event. I haven't used it as a 9x13" pan warmer, but I imagine that would be fine as well.
My issues are that 1) the first one I ordered didn't work at all. Took it out of the box - and nothing. But with the beauty of Amazon - I returned it and had a new one in a matter of days.
The new one - it's a touch wobbly (but handleable) and that the light goes on and off, I believe when it's reached the heat point and the element shuts off. It's not a fine control, but food stays warm, so it's hard to complain.
In general, I'd recommend it for those that want a smaller buffet server!

I bought this for my mother and she is very happy with the weight of the warmer. It's about 7 lbs and the last warmer she had was 15 lbs...she's 83). She loves that you can use the warmer with or without the buffet dishes.
