Mesh child/pet gates Nov 03, 2006
By Maxine Bell

These gates are a good buy for a small or regular door opening. I've found that they fall down and don't stay secure when you open them wide to fit a larger opening. No problem at all for regular door openings or staircases.

basic and reliable Mar 26, 2011
By semperfidelix we bought one for the base of the stairs, then a few weeks later got one for the kitchen, then one for the hall. It's easy to set up and remove, low enough to step over (my wife and I are both tall), and doesn't mar the walls or woodwork.
One tip -- once you get it dialed in, take a heavy black marker and put lines on either side of the correct notch. This will remove the guesswork for when you have to put it back up in a hurry.

Function at a Great Price Oct 17, 2009
By Danny Wright In our experience, the two gates fit perfectly and are easily adjustable. Just what we needed to keep a new puppy out of the carpeted area of the house. We're ordering a third for the stairs - she's learning to get around way too fast! For a basic, low-priced gate, it's tough to see how this one could be beat.

Works well - a bit flimsy until set up firmly Apr 22, 2009
By Julie Definitely a workable product for the price -- this can be a bit irritating until you get it set up nice and tight in the doorway you are using. I recommend marking with a pencil the notch where you'll use it most because adjusting it is annoying if you are in a hurry. That said, the price is right and this definitely works. I'd say it's better in a place where you can set it up and leave it rather than a place where you will be constantly taking it up and down.

great for the price, but not quite puppy proof Feb 15, 2012
By Frosch Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RYKZ4TGT2YJNF The gate seems to be good quality for the price, and once you figure out that the metal clasp has to be pushed up so that the two bars can separate, it is really easy to install and remove. It does help to mark the correct notch, thanks to previous reviewers for mentioning that!
Well, the gate keeps our puppy in the kitchen while we're there, too, and it keeps her out of rooms no one's in, but when we're in the other room and she doesn't want to be alone, this gate does not stop her at all. She figured out how to climb over it within a few days. She's about 15 weeks old in the video, and she had already been doing this for a couple of weeks when I caught it on camera. If I move the gate a bit higher up, she can still get over it, and if I keep moving it higher, well, she fits underneath... I guess it depends on your dog, my parents in law have been using this gate for years for their bigger dogs, and they don't even seem to think about climbing over it.
Sorry the video is so dark.
