3Beautiful, but flimsy in parts  Sep 03, 2007
By Sarah Schwartz
The bottom of the drawer and of the cart itself are extremely flimsy, so this cart will be great for storing paper plates and similar, but I would not store anything heavier in the bottom compartment. Oddly, the shelf within the cabinet is strong and beautiful, and I would put something heavier on it like canned goods. It is disappointment, though, to have such a flimsy bottom --- it really seems like if you dropped a can opener in the drawer from a height of 4 inches, it would go through the bottom of the drawer. I planned to store pots in it, and am disappointed that I won't be able to in the end. But I need to store my paper goods somewhere, so this will be it! It is beautiful on the top, though, and was not too hard to put together, although the instructions were a bit obscure.

The drawer is shallow, but big enough to hold things like a silverware holder if you put them width-wise instead of length-wise as in a normal drawer. The top of the cart is very very thick and sturdy, though, so I trust leaving things on top of it even heavy things like a microwave or kitchenaid mixer.

Recommended if you understand the limitations. Everyone needs to put their napkins and saran wrap somewhere. But I would try the beechwood cart first. Maybe that is more substantial, though one review says the bottom is pretty flimsy too, and it looks like it might follow same design: very very thin wood framed by nice thick wood.

4Very nice for the price  Sep 24, 2004
By Research before buy
I compared several other kitchen carts and I liked this one the best because it matches my other cabinet decor and handles. I also liked the dimensions. It's not too large so it fits nicely in my kitchen next to my stove. I keep my cookbooks on the shelves below and I have a dish towel on the rack. I don't think it was made for paper towels. I keep potholders in the drawer. The casters look pretty good although it still moves around slightly on my tile floor. My toddler likes opening and closing the doors so hopefully it will withstand that. Overall I'm pleased with my purchase.

4Great little cart for a small kitchen but be advised...  Oct 02, 2006
By cShell
the pictures shows a dish towel on the rod, and the description mentions being able to use it for paper towels. We bought this for my mother for her birthday, put it together, and surprised her with it. However, the surprise was on us when we tried to put a roll of paper towel onto the rod. Assuming that paper towel rolls are all a uniform length, this rod will not hold a roll of paper towel. It's about an inch to short. That was disappointing since we wanted her to put her paper towel on the rod. Otherwise it went together pretty easily, seems sturdy, and looks nice.

3Not bad, but could use some improvements  Nov 15, 2003

This cart works just fine for my purposes (keeping my microwave on top, cookbooks and other kitchen sundries in the cabinet). I was able to put it together pretty easily, although fitting the top back brace into the assembly required my pressing down on it with about 3/4 my body weight in order to get the dowels to pop into the holes. I was trying to figure out why that was, but I still can't find the design flaw, as all the pieces seem level to my eye. Also, the pre-drilled holes on the bottom for the casters seem to have been drilled by someone didn't know what a square was, or who had maybe been drinking. At any rate, they did not match up very well with the holes in the caster brackets. I was still able to get them to fit OK, as the wood is soft enough that I could still screw the casters into place without matching up the holes perfectly. Additionally, the paper towel holder on the side of the cart (at least according to the picture on the box, that's what it is) is too short to fit a roll of paper towels, so I'll have to figure out something else to do with it. My *primary* complaint is actually the size and design of the drawer. It is very shallow, and due to the lack of a locking piece on the runner, it will pull clean out if you're not careful. I was hoping to put my silverware tray in there, but I think I'll only be able to use it for things like napkins or placemats. Oh well, for $100 and change I suppose it's pretty decent for the price.

5Exactly what we needed  Mar 24, 2010
By Suzanne Shopaholic "Suzanne"
We were on the hunt for a cabinet that we could use to hold our Microwave and free up some counter space in our tiny kitchen. The Winsome Wood cart that is similar was my first choice, but it was out of stock with no clear date that it would be back in. I found this one after much searching and I gotta tell you, there are not many of these out there like this for the price! It's definitely a good value. Since we only have a little floor space, this was the perfect width and depth so that it is not in the way. It went together pretty easy with the hardest part being the wheels (since we don't have an auto-screw driver). But once those were on, I was able to put the rest together myself while watching TV :) Most of the screws were Hex screws which you don't have to be really strong to do. Very easy.

Now that it is completed and in place, it is perfect for what we wanted it for. The microwave sits on top and seems sturdy. The cabinet space is great for some pots and pans we had no room for before, and the drawer is great for our overflow of mixing spoons and things that currently don't fit well in the 1 silverware drawer we have. I plan to hang a towel on the bar, which will be really convenient when we have to pull something hot out of the microwave. I already have my paper towel elsewhere in the kitchen but just so you know - the bar isn't big enough for paper towel. It rolls smoothly when the wheels are unlocked so it will be easy to clean behind it.

Finally, this perfectly complements the Natural Wood breakfast cart we bought from Sears.

Possible issue for some: Yes the drawer is shallow, but for paper/pens, or some mixing / serving spoons, it is fine. Our cart from Sears has the same shallow drawers but you'd be amazed how much can fit in them.
