~*~*~THESE ARE NON-TOXIC * DON'T STINK & ARE TONS OF FUN~*~*~ Sep 22, 2011
By Mommy of Cuties M & Z
"Mom of Twins"
Really surprised about the reviews that claim these smell toxic, they don't. Plus they are non-toxic so anything you smell wouldn't be toxic. Do they have a smell? Yes they do, at first. Does it stink? No, it doesn't. The smell reminds me of first opening most swimmng toys, or lots of toys/items made of similar material. My daughters and I were smelling them and we all thought they smelled good. After the first bath time the smell was a lot less but still there a little if you put them right to your nose.
These letters are PERFECT, we have had a ton of bath toys I really hated but Love these. *They are a nice big size-about 2 1/4-2 1/2"wide & 3"tall(they're all slightly different) *Easy to pick up & hold *Stick super easy, just wet and stick(they even stick to skin) *They can be stored ON the wall and don't fall off during showers *They are non-absorbant so no worries of mold/bacteria *They are very durable, won't break or tear easily, yet are soft *They float *Bright colors, multi colors, colors don't fade *Lots of fun *Great interactive/learning toy(if parents participate) *Fun for Mom & Dad too...every shower we try and think of new & clever words or messages to leave eachother...it is fun & quite hilarious...at least for now because my girls are 2 1/2 and can not spell yet ;)

Fun, Inexpensive, and Will Provide Years of Play Jun 17, 2010

My daughter loves these letters (she's two and a half). She totes them around the house and "spells" words, and she sorts them into color groups. She loves them in the bath as well -- they stick well to the tub and even our textured tile. She likes to perform science experiments with them, seeing if the letters will stick to her head.
I did not notice any type of odor when we opened them. I also gave these as a gift, and the recipients did not experience what other reviewers mention. I did buy these locally at a large retailer for less than the price listed here. Perhaps there are different suppliers, and the online ones had a bad batch?
I recommend these. It's the kind of toy my daughter will play with for years.

These letters stink Jun 12, 2009
By Lisa Really, these toys smell awful. The smell made us all light headed as soon as we opened them. They are now on the back porch off gassing and airing out. But they still smell two days later. Hopefully the smell will go away so we can enjoy them, but I seriously worry about our son sucking on them and playing with them since they smell so bad.

Stinks! (literally) Jan 12, 2010
By Winter baby I wished I had read the previous review. I got these and was excited to give them to my 2yo but when I opened them they STUNK!!! They had this toxic chemical smell and I just returned them. It was a strong noxious smell that I certainly did not want my child bathing in and potentially ingesting. If anyone can recommend alternatives, that would be great.

Really helped my daughter learn her letters and numbers! Nov 06, 2010

We purchased this product at an on-ground retailer because my daughter likes playing in the tub. She played with these letters every time she got in the tub, since she was about 16-18 months old. She quickly learned her alphabet and her numbers, and was able to identify them everywhere (i.e. on T-shirts, on signs, trucks, etc.).
They are great because they stick on the wall or side of the tub when the are wet, which makes it fun. We ask her to find a letter and she pulls it out of the water and slaps it on the side of the tub. It makes bath time a lot of fun.
I've read some of the other reviews complaining that the letters stink, which was definitely not the case for us. They must have gotten a bad batch or something.
For the price, you really can't beat this product. It's a great learning tool, that is a lot of fun (for the child and the parents).
