 Great value, good for memory foam Jun 29, 2009

I ordered this bed to hold our new memory foam mattress - the slats would provide the air circulation needed under the foam. The assembly was fairly easy - it was only slightly awkward because we needed a California King size, so all the parts were bigger. The deliveryman kindly agreed to take it the several long boxes to our 2nd floor, thank goodness. The frame is great quality for the money - I shopped around a lot and didn't find anything nearly as nice for the price. The slats were of a lesser quality wood, and had big knots in the wood, but there were enough of them and they don't show, so that it didn't matter. The shape of the headboard and the legs are sleek, and it looks very nice in our bedroom. I would recommend this to a friend.

I love this bed. I'm a 30 year old female and put it together myself in an hour. Attractive, sturdy,comfy shaped headboard for reading or watching TV!

I ordered this bed based on a lot of internet research about the product. Amazon.com had the best price and the shipping was free. The bed arrived in record time, a full week before the estimated delivery date. It's really beautiful, sturdy and well-made. Exactly as described. I had a friend help me put it together and would recommend two people for the job although it is very easy to assemble. The second pair of hands just made it easier because it is big - I'm a small woman - and a bit cumbersome. It could be done by one person though as it is not at all complicated. Assembly took about 20 minutes. Overall, this was a great experience.

This bed looks nice but it is super flimsy. Within 6 months, two of the slats have cracked and broken where you screw it in - clearly the sign of a badly made product. On top of this, one of the supporting legs has come off as well & I have to keep fixing it back in place (my 3 year old sleeps on this). I'm super disappointed with amazon. I would've expected more careful product selection from their buying teams. If I could, I'd happily return it to them.

The first one we received had a crack in the headboard and the first night one of the slats broke, looked like a weak spot in the wood where a knot was. I called Amazon to see what they could do and found that they have amazing customer service. They replaced the entire bed at no charge. Of course, we had to send the first one back, but the packaging was gone, so they gave us about a month to put the old pieces into the replacement packaging. Then all I had to do was call to arrange for pick up. Again this was all at no additional cost.
This bed was for our Temper-Pedic mattress so we knew we would have to customize it by putting a piece of plywood on top of the slats to give it an even surface. That worked fine, but the legs that support the slat in the middle of the bed fell out anytime the bed was moved slightly. We eventually made an entire frame to support the bed and that made such a difference.
It is a nice looking bed, but the slats and the middle supports are not all that sturdy. Granted it is probably not made for the weight of a TemperPedic, but I did not feel overly secure in the bed until we put the framework underneath. Now that it is customized I love it!
