Convenient and attractive ... Mar 12, 2007
By L. Mountford I've owned this clock for almost a year, and consider it one of the better buys I've made in clocks. So far, it has "self-adjusted" for every daylight savings time change with no problems. The key, I think, is to make sure that it is set to adjust automatically, and that the time zone is set correctly. There's an unmarked button that, if depressed, will deactivate DST automatic adjustment (this is all explained in the short owner's manual).
The clock is very classy looking, and, contrary to other reviewers' comments, the frame is real wood, NOT plastic. I know because I "nicked" the back of it accidentally on a nail when I was hanging it. It has a walnut stain and smooth satin finish. The design will go with a lot of different decorating styles. Mine is sort of traditional/eclectic, and the woodtone of this clock works well. The dial has a mildly "old-fashioned" look to it -- very easy to read.
I've been thrilled with this clock, and would gladly purchase another. Amazon's price is excellent, too.

Great design Oct 20, 2005
By ALY This is a very well made clock. It is easy to see from far away, shows correct time within minutes of setup, no more climbing up to set the Daylight Savings Time or remembering how many minutes the clock is off. A quick test showed that clock's time about 2 seconds different from my Verizon cell phone.
Good product.

LaCrosse Analog Atomic Clock Mar 25, 2006
By R. Brandell I ordered two LaCrosse 12-inch mahogany colored wood analog atomic clocks. They are beautiful, but I had problems with both of them. One didn't work at all and had to be returned. The other one only picks up the required radio signal if the clock is directly facing a westerly window even though the instructions suggest that the radio signals penetrate walls (except in the middle of large buildings). My house is not a large building and when I put the clock on a wall that faces north for four days, but it wouldn't set itself. On the fourth day I moved it to the east wall of the same room (facing a western window) and it set itself, but that's not where I want the clock!! I've decided to keep the clock (on the north-facing wall) knowing that the time is not being updated daily and will be no more accurate than any other clock in the house...disappointing, since I was looking forward to setting all my other clocks and watch from that one.

Don't be fooled, it really works! Mar 27, 2007
By Laura I I needed a wall clock for my bedroom, and this one matched my decor, so I thought, "why not".
I had read reviews on here that the clock had trouble with adjusting to daylight savings time, and since that was just a couple of weeks ago I was worried that it might not work correctly. I put the battery in and about 10 minutes later I heard a strange sound as the clock started setting itself. I thought "how cool!" although admittedly it did look like a clock possessed by a ghost. It set itself to 4:00, only it was actually 6:30pm.
Now I felt worried. It's not like it was off by some time zone, it was off by 2.5 hours. I read through the little manual. It says, "keep it away from TVs and computers". Ok, it's in the bedroom, so no problem. Then it says: "works best near a window facing Colorado". I laughed out loud when I read that! I mean seriously, who is going to get out a compass and choose the placement of their clock based on a Colorado-facing window?? I then started to worry because I don't get very good cell phone reception in my house and the clock was a good 15 feet from the nearest window. I decided to just leave it alone and see if it had set itself by morning. Then, come 10:30pm I heard the strange noise again and the clock set itself to the correct time. It is strange that it originally set itself to 4, and then exactly 4 hours later it set itself correctly. It seems very methodical, but nothing was mentioned (that I saw) in the manual about this.
So, that said, I have full confidence in this clock working correctly. Not only that but it's beautifully made and very easy to read. I highly recommend it!
