Great for the price and peace of mind!! Jun 12, 2008
By Jody Gibson I think the other reviewer must have installed these incorrectly. You have to attach one piece of each strap specifically to the furniture and the other end to the wall. It is clearly labeled, so it's not hard or anything, but it DOES make a difference. If you install it incorrectly (ie. furniture piece to wall and wall piece to furniture, you may have the problem the other reviewer mentioned). I tugged and yanked on mine after installation and the strap stayed tight.
These straps can take a decent size piece of furniture (ie. a tall chest of drawers) and seem much more secure to me than the ones that just have a plastic piece and not a strap.
I will buy these over and over for small to medium size pieces of furniture. For extra large pieces that are VERY heavy, like an entertainment center, I would either use more than just two of these or buy the type that are more expensive ($10+) that are cables instead of straps.

Easy to Install - has eased our minds greatly! Feb 17, 2010
By 14TheLamb There were too many stories close to us about kids getting hurt (and worse) by bookshelves/dressers falling on them. These straps have given us a lot of piece of mind. They feel very secure, and my wife tells me they were easy to install (I was at work okay!?). These come very highly recommended from a father of 2.

Not as sturdy Jul 05, 2010

We have a big, heavy cabinet in the baby room and I am so paranoid about it falling on my baby that I bought three types of furniture straps. The idea was that I could be guaranteed that at least one of the products would work. Anyways Safety First product was better quality and sturdier than this one. This product is ok for a piece of furniture that isn't that heavy. Go with Safety First for %100 piece of mind.

Perfect Feb 05, 2010

Works great, we use these straps on all of our bookshelves and dressers and they do the job. Easy to install. I think those who had troubles did not install correctly. If you follow the directions they don't loosen up.

Does the job, but not pretty Feb 01, 2010
By mommy2js I like this product if you are just looking for something to do the job. But it has a SUPER long strap that is almost all excess. It does make it slightly easier to install with the extra length, but it is kind of weird to see a big long white strap hanging down the wall. You can tie up or do a few other things to hide it, but if I bought this type of product again, I would get the one I had before - it was a plastic zip style that was much smaller and hidden much easier.
