Body OK, baskets cheap junk Aug 19, 2011
By GEJBOOKS

Let me start by saying that the main body of this strainer is fine. I was, however, rather shocked at how flimsy and cheaply made are the strainer baskets. I think you would be hard pressed to find poorer baskets anywhere. Thin metal and they are either in or out - no way to release the water without pulling the basket out of the drain - they have to sit at an angle to let water flow (and debris) through. The Kohler name certainly doesn't mean what it once did.

Doesn't hold water... Jan 19, 2012
By William Patterson

It looks nice but if you don't wash your dishes immediately the water drains out. I had to go out to the trash and get my old garbage disposal black stopper and use it. Very disappointing. Bill in Las Vegas

KOHLER K-8813-CP Stainless Steel Sink Strainer, Polished Chrome Aug 06, 2011
By BRJR It works well, in the new Kohler Sink I purchased it for use in (KOHLER K-3361-4-NA Staccato Large/Medium Self-Rimming Kitchen Sink). I have it installed at the left, smaller of the two sink basins, and have a King 1hp Garbage Disposal, installed at the larger sink basin. This arrangement works excellently for me.

looks great May 15, 2011
By amazon shoper This went in to a new kitchen sink without a problem, it looks good, and functions a lot better than the old one.
Worked perfectly! Only 1 issue. Feb 27, 2012
By Joshua I had a leaky sink and after doing some inspection I found the basket strainer was the culprit. I found this one and it looked similar to the one I had already so I ordered it. The old one had a plastic ring that held it on, this one had a metal one. That alone was a big improvement! The metal pipe that comes with it is much better than the plastic tube I currently have but it's too long so I cannot use it. I installed this strainer in about 20 minutes and there are no more leaks!
My only complaint is that the sink will no longer hold water. The old plug will not work with this new strainer and the plug that comes with this strainer is very oddly designed. No matter how I put it in or how much I twist it, it will not hold water. There is always a steady stream going down. I rarely fill this sink up so it's not a big deal but if it's critical for you, it's important to know.
