Great simple chopsticks with a little modification Aug 19, 2009

The stock photo is not the the right one. The other, non-prime, Joyce Chen chopsticks are correct and you can see what they really look like. I like the fact that they are fully rounded and light. The tips are good, but I made them better. I took a strip of 100 grit sandpaper and sanded the tips. I mainly rotated the chopstick in the sandpaper up to the last grip line. Rotate more than up and down to create a more horizontal finish for better grip. Comes out looking brushed and nice. I think a coarser grit would be even better and provide a more constrasting look, but 100 was all I had at the time.

Quite OK Oct 21, 2005
By Pierre et Clemence I was concerned that these Chinese style i.e. rounded chopsticks would be too lightweight and slippery. The weight is imperceptible and the lower half is ringed for improved grasping.

Wonderful! Mar 26, 2011
By CakeOrDeath My husband and I love these. I was concerned that they might be more difficult to use than the more traditional chopsticks, but we have not had any problems. We were both pretty unskilled with chopsticks, but neither one of us have had any problems using these. We also have not had to alter the tips of these at all, we've found the texture that they came with to be perfectly adequate. Definitely recommend!

These are really nice chopsticks. Jan 28, 2011
By Jim Ferguson These chopsticks are a cross of the Japanese and Korean style. They most closely resemble Japanese because of their circular cross-section and size but with the metal construction of the Korean chopstick. They are stainless steel tubing which makes them incredibly strong but lightweight. They will never splinter, stain, or acquire a taste. They will take anything a dishwasher can mete out with impunity. They have no pores or grain to trap and hide pathogens.
You may need to employ the sandpaper recommended by a previous reviewer if you are a fan of the Vietnamese or Taiwanese style large square cross-section chopstick.
These chopsticks grace my table admirably.

Functional and sturdy, but a little slippery. Apr 07, 2010

These are pretty good, but not fantastic.
Pros: Hollow, so they're light Very Sturdy stainless steel. I've abused mine already and they stand up. Banded tips, which improve grip on slippery objects
Cons: Slippery, even with the banded tips, they may not be best for beginners. Slippery -- why twice? You know how Chinese grease leaks through any bag? Well these can be very difficult to hold with greasy fingers.
All in all, for the price, they can't be beat.
