Not bad, but it ticks. Sep 01, 2009
By S. Dunphy I bought the Seiko alarm clock first, an indulgence at $45. But despite being near perfect in every respect the alarm was too loud. So I donated it to my son.
This was the replacement -- handsome, functional, but ticking so loud that my wife moved it quickly into my bureau drawer. I returned it after one night.
I replaced this with the Chaney Instruments Sydney Alarm clock. Not perfect, but much quieter, the alarm is subtle, and it's inexpensive. Definitely a trade up from this.
Good luck.

big for the bedside Sep 25, 2009

I like the looks of this clock a lot. It keeps good time, and the tick doesn't bother me. I actually find it kind of soothing. But it is much larger than I thought it would be. I didn't really pay attention to the dimensions. Takes up a lot of room on the bedside table. My other criticism is that the hands don't hold their luminescence for long. If I wake up in the night and want to know the time, I have to turn the light on. This is a fairly serious short coming, as far as I'm concerned. But as of now, I have no plans to replace it.

Timeless Clock Feb 20, 2009

An ol'classic when it comes to style... and telling time. Living in the digital age, it's nice to take a step back. This clock is never a minute early, or late - a timeless product working for you.

A quality issue you may want to be aware of: Apr 13, 2010
By Patti A.

I love the look of this clock and don't mind the ticking at all. What I don't care for is the quality of the face which appears to be made of cardboard (although the cardboard is under glass). This explains the somewhat peculiar warning found in the instructions: "Please avoid placing the instument exposed to direct sunlight for extended period of time as this will affect the functionality and the outlook of Your new time piece". I'll bet it will! That puppy will fade in no time flat. I'm keeping the clock anyway as I won't be placing it in the sun and I don't see any other quality issues. It seems to work fine - Just saying...

Can Wake the Dead! Feb 03, 2010
By B. Johnson Very nice looking. Has that vintage appeal. But the alarm is so incredibly loud! We are moving it to the guest room and getting a different alarm clock. This alarm could wake the dead--or your neighbors, depending on how close they are.
