Well, it's a hamper... Mar 31, 2005

... and it holds clothes like it's supposed to.
It looks nice against the wall near the bathroom (I live in NYC, so my bathroom is too small to actually have the hamper inside of it), came already assembled, and stores my dirty clothes.
I do have two minor issues with it however...
1) It smells a little funny. This is probably the wicker construction yes, I'm aware, I just thought I'd mention it. It doesn't smell BAD mind you, just a little funny. Wicker-like, I suppose.
2) The lid is not removeable. It has a velcro seal to close it, which is nice, and you can't lose the lid then, but it also means I can't line the hamper with a laundry bag because it can only go around the edges for the front half of the unit, and putting weight inside the bag (clothes) without the back half hanging outside the edges makes the laundry bag sink in. That's not ideal.
Other than that, again, it's a hamper. It looks nice, and my dirty clothes seem to be happy inside it.
Also, for those who may be curious, the hamper is made in China.

Holds laundry - but could've been designed better Jun 22, 2006
By F. Rabi It's sturdy and does what it's supposed to do - hold laundry. Velcro closes the lid. I've had it for about a year, and it still stands up properly. I was worried that the wicker would slowly break or lose sturdiness, but it's still good. No problems.
The only thing I don't like it the fact that the handles are placed front and back. If the lid is open all the way, it will cover the back handle and you will not be able to pick this up. I know, it's a minor issue, but why couldn't the handles have been placed on the sides - like most other things with handles.

Simple and Affordable Jul 17, 2005
By Mike From Jersey My wife and I used to pile our clothes next to the bedroom door until we got this neat little hamper. I was very surprised how many clothes actually fit into this thing. The only flaw in it's design is the lid. It just doesn't close completely with the velcro (I think they should made it boxed on all three sides). Aside from this, it is a very compact and nifty hamper that does the job. Now, if someone could help me wash all these clothes...

Good hamper. Could have been great. Mar 13, 2008

All the other reviews tell the good points. I only have 2 things to add.
1. When even half way full, the sides bow out a little. Easy to fold for shipping. Would have been nicer to deal with the larger shipping container and not get a folding side. It doesn't look good when it bows out like that. It doesn't do that in the picture.
2. Velcro on the lid is annoying. I don't want to hear and have to pull the velcro before placing laundry in, or taking it out. It would have been better to have a lid that didn't have the velcro.

Really quite nice Sep 05, 2005
By hajah It's exactly as the reviews and product description said. Sure, I'd love to have a removable lining, but it didn't take anything to make a quick one out of linen (using velcro connectors). But for the money it's quite charming looking, extremely useful, and surprisingly durable.
In fact, we decided to buy one for my grandmother, too!
