 Festive Presentation for Serving Turkey Sep 14, 2009

The Holidays are my most, most favorite time of year. While it is only September, I'm already dreaming of Thanksgiving. Last year I used this platter for serving my Turkey. The size of the platter was generous enough to accomodate enough Turkey to last us through the meal ( there were 8 of us at the table). I loved how cheery and festive the platter looked sitting on the set table all day. I also love the fact that it works with my everyday whiteware, but it also fit in with my China pattern. It worked with my table setting and the understated design didn't compete with the tablecloth or clash with the China. If you like a little bit of holiday fun on your table without screaming "I'm a turkey platter" this would work well. Very classy.

If you make a large turkey, or a pair of oven stuffer roasters, or a whole ham, it is a really sad moment to have to do the presentation in the kitchen in the roasting pan or lug said pan to your table.
We have platters.
They hold smaller birds, half hams, and on. A seven rib-standing rib roast? No chance. This baby does.
And you can cut on it.
And you can serve on it.
And it washes up just wonderfully in your dishwasher.
Not a bad product--a very nice product at a reasonable pricepoint.

I was given this platter as a thank you for hosting the Thanksgiving dinner. It is big enough to hold a large turkey. It is also quite heavy and storage of such a large, heavy item is sometimes a problem. However, since it is perfect to serve turkey for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, I've made room for it. Good value for the money.

This platter is elegant, understated and just perfect for a holiday dinner. It arrived packaged well, it's heavy, and washed up fine in the dishwasher. I can't wait to use it for Thanksgiving next week. It's big enough to hold a big turkey too, but I'm using it for a small "Tur-duck-en." :) Happily Holidays!

I bought this platter to host Thanksgiving for the first time and it looks fantastic. It was big enough to present our carved 15 lb. bird with a little room to spare. A lovely dish!
