For once I didn't get hosed Sep 23, 2009
By Npcoach Normally, I don't get too worked up over a garden hose - but this one is the best I have ever used. After going through about 4 supposedly "kink free" Costco and Home Depot specials - I finally broke down and bought this hose. No more kinky action - and this time that is a good thing. Just a strong, reliable hose. It is very sturdy, coils up easily and - so far - has not kinked. It is pricey, but not as pricey as replacing a lousy hose every 8-12 months. Costco now carries a "six ply" hose - but this one is 8 ply and feels more substantial.
UPDATE: June 2011 - Still going great. Kink free and as good as new. Still the best hose I have ever used and recently ordered another.

Kinks too easily Sep 14, 2009

Overall, I'm satisfied with the hose, but I think it kinks too easily when I drag it around my garden. I would have thought that anything named "Platinum" would be the top of the line and be more kink resistant.

Doesnt get much better than this Apr 28, 2009
By Gene Friedman Whats not to love about this hose? Its surprisingly light weight, it has a nice large grip on the coupler (which is brass BTW), and they've improved the strain relief by using a spring instead of rubber on the old hoses. If there is a drawback I haven't found it yet.

Excellent May 01, 2009
By A. Ko Great! I was so sick of my old tangled hoses. This product is very good. The connectors are solid and don't leak.

The best I've ever bought Jun 28, 2010

I've bought a lot of hoses, and usually try to get the ones that are at or near the top of the line at the stores. I've never been very happy with any, and some made me curse the manufacturer and all his family.
I like using a hose reel. Most hoses are OK if you pull them straight off the reel, and do not try to go very far. They usually keep their shape and if you don't baby them, they will kink continuously. Then, you have to baby them when you reel them back in, making sure they aren't in the least bit twisted. The trouble with most hoses is that once they get enough of a kink, they never recover.
This hose is orders of magnitude better. It doesn't hold the coiled shape of the reel, it's pretty rubbery, light, and easy to use. Of course, I've learned pretty well how to prevent hoses from kinking, but most of my other ones would still drive me crazy. This one is so much better, I want to kiss it. I'd guess it might kink if you don't pay attention, but anyone who complains about that has never used a different hose. Perhaps the very heavy-duty rubber hoses are better, but they are expensive and heavy.
The only problem is that the faucet end is big. It's very nice, but on my hose reel, the connection is in a place where it was too tight to fit, so I had to use a small extension to connect it to. But it's sure easy to tighten.
