You can be the judge, but from The Furniture Cove's own web site comes the following:
"This is a stately square oak table done in the mission furniture style! It works great as a plant stand, but can also be used like any other table top, a good place for an extra lamp. The shelf underneath is perfect for CD's, magazines, or books. The 11 1/2" top is grooved which compliments the overall look. It stands 30" tall! Notice the bottom shelf and the side slats! This is a substantial piece of furniture.
"These are not solid oak, but have an oak veneer and are sturdy."
Amazon needs to follow up on my review here because it appears that the vendor (or Amazon?) has deliberately left off the last sentence even though the description hails it as a "solid oak" stand.
I removed it from my cart once I visited the vendor's online site. Amazon should investigate further so that it does not allow misleading descriptions. Thank you.

It was exactly as presented, and although it did require assembly (which wasn't outlined in the description) it was relatively easy to do. The directions could have been a little more detailed for those of us who are not adept at assembly. Overall it is good quality and fits my needs and expectations.

Possible to put together by yourself, but easier with a helper. Once assembled, it looks great, and is very sturdy.

"The family cook"
This is a special furniture item. It is a showcase for a single item. I use mine for a special orchid at the window. The fit and finish is excellent, especially for the price. Note the "mission" style. You may want to consider if it fits your decor. Love mine.
