1Tiny Butter Dish  Jan 21, 2010
By L. Curtin "flutelaura"
Purchased this for Christmas and the first thing I noticed was how tiny it was. A stick of butter barely fits inside the cover!! Butter gets all over the sides of the cover because it just isn't well proportioned for a regular stick of butter.

I also noticed the color is not even or consistent - I purchased cinnabar and it really didin't have an even coverage of that color. Perhaps the other colors fare better?

Overall, I was very disappointed in this purchase, especially as I thought it was a bit overpriced.

5WOW ........ gorgeous!  Aug 18, 2002
By MotherLodeBeth "MotherLodeBeth"
Purchased this in black for a friend who has Fiestaware in black and white and have bought myself one even though I never thought I would buy a covered butter dish. And I use it more than I ever imagined. I like the style because its clean and doesn't have the "cute" silliness of most covered butter dishes.

I guess that is what I like about Fiestaware anyway. It is so clean and neat as well as utterly gorgeous in colour as well as such a pleasure to handle. And my friends place looks so wonderful when he sets the table in the black and white Fiestaware, mixing plates, bowls, serving pieces.

2Butter dish  Jun 07, 2010
By Shopper
Butter dishes seem like a mundane thing until you start searching for one. I reject out of hand all those with no handle because I know from experience that without a handle the lid is difficult to remove. This one seemed like it would fit the bill, but the problem with it is that it was designed poorly. The dome of the lid is not tall enough. A standard cube of butter cannot fit inside without being smashed slightly and you end up with butter on the inside of the lid. This one will do for now, but my search continues for the perfect butter dish.

2Pretty - but small  Nov 03, 2006
By M. Stockton
Love the matching sugar bowl that comes with this butter dish, and the butter dish is very pretty, however it is too small!! or short rather.. you put a standard cube of butter in the dish and it squeezes the top of the butter and gets stuck. The lid does not touch the bottom of the dish until you have used most of the butter. Also it has to reach room temperature, so it becomes molded to the shape of the lid better, which in turn makes a mess. Really, very unusual and it drives me nuts. I do not recomend the butter dish, sadly.

5Fiestaware Butter Dish Is A Style Everyone Appreciates!  Jan 06, 2001
By Jon D. Luce
I liked the Fiestaware Clock a lot but the butter dish is fantastic! It holds the cold from the refrigerator when the butter is on the table so no melting, spoiled butter. If the butter is too hard, a few seconds in the microwave softens it up! Attractive in all of these colors, the hardest problem was choosing which color. Fiestaware pieces don't have to be all the same color. That's why it is a Fiesta to use. Clean up in the dishwasher is just one more good thing about it. Maybe it's because I am getting older but I enjoy all these fun things in the kitchen and dining room. How about everyone else?
