After reading the reviews I noticed at least one person had a seller who didn't send the item pictured. I bought four of these from The Handy House yesterday and they came TODAY! They are individually packaged with the Endurance and RSVP labels on them. I just wanted to help those of you who are afraid which seller to buy from. I don't know about the other sellers, but this place was very good.
As for the product - perfect! We're going to be moving out of the city into an area with a septic mound system and I was terrified of the stuff going down the drain and causing problems. I'm sure these will catch most everything my family throws at them!

Eight months ago, we ordered 2 RSVP Endurance Large Stainless Strainers through Amazon. We have been very happy with the product - in fact so much so that we ordered 5 more to give to our friends. The package arrived today and we were very disappointed with the quality of the new strainer. They appear to be fabricated from two pieces of metal (the flange and strainer are pressed together and are much flimsier than the original ones we ordered (three pieces - the strainer is sandwiched between two flanges; hence, flange on the new strainer is about half the thickness of the original one). Also, in our original purchase the strainers were individually packaged in plastic pouches and cardboard dividers. In this recent order, five strainers were loosely packed in a small cardboard box with no padding material. I don't know if RSVP purposely reduced the quality of this product or the seller substituted a cheaper product. There is no label on the product to indicate the manufacturer, but the invoice says "RSVP Endurance Large Strainer Standard". The word "Standard" is not indicated on the product description from the company. The bottom of these strainers are flat, whereas the strainers we got the first time have a curved bottom. The reason we bought from this seller was because they offered the best price on what was supposed to be comparable quality.

I've used mesh strainers in my sinks in the past and have never been pleased with them -- the mesh gets clogged up easily, and it's a real pain to get it clean. A clogged strainer slows down the water flow which is a problem when you're draining something such as a big pot of pasta.
This is made of perforated stainless which is a world easier to clean -- just rinse or, if it gets really grungy, toss into the dishwasher. It's very thick, holds its shape well, and does not rust. Basically, the last strainer you'll need to buy! Costs more than a typical wire strainer, but works a LOT better. Highly recommend!

Very pleased with the quality of this item. Fits perfectly over my drain and catches every thing. Performs so much better than the standard-style strainer I was using before, which I always had to dig my finger around the sides just to knock pieces of food into the "basket" so they didn't fall down the drain when I lifted the strainer out. This strainer does what the other strainers should do, but don't! I think landlords/property managers should use these in their rentals! Saves your pipes from clogs better than any other strainer and does not rust. :)

This is easily the best sink strainer I've ever owned.
I've cruised high and low in numerous kitchen and bath stores, and online catalogs, for years, looking for a decent sink strainer than was durable, didn't clog, and was easy to clean. You'd think it would be easy to find something with such simple requirements, right ? Well, it's surprisingly difficult, because unfortunately there are an infinitude of poor models out there, usually with a flimsy and easily clogged wire mesh basket, and often with an easily cracked plastic ring. THIS IS THE BEST, by far, because it is 100% stainless steel, and very sturdy ... I routinely carry it to my garbage pail and vigorously bang it to dump out the contents, and after heavy use it is neither stained nor scratched. I am very confident it will last for many years.
I actually use this strainer in alternation with a basket model having a bottom stopper ... I use this one for washing dishes and every day use, and the model with the stopper for when I want to fill the sink with water in order to wash herbs or delicate clothes.
TIPS: (a) I dropped a half-star because this unit is slightly smaller than it's advertized size. (b) Shop around to different sellers for the best price ... the seller linked to this review may not be the best deal.
Highly Recommended.
