If it onlyl held a paper towel roll Oct 11, 2009
By AQ Got this for Mom's kitchen. She wanted an oak wall-mount paper towel holder, and this looks nice both in the pictures and when we got it. But...there is no dowel to run through the paper towel tube. Instead, it is spring-loaded, and there is about an inch of wood on each side that is supposed to hold the towel roll. You are supposed to pull out the handles on each side and then slide the towel roll in; the handles are supposed to spring back into place and hold it. The problem is, the handles don't pull out far enough and there isn't room to easily slip the towel roll into place. Mom has arthritis, and couldn't even pull the handles apart. So we tried to do it for her...and the entire knob assembly on one end came off. We are buying an oak dowel to use to hold the towel roll in place...very poor design.

oak paper towel holder Dec 29, 2008
By Doris Waltz The product was excellent; made of nice oak, with a good finish. And the price was very reasonable. I was very happy to get it, since I had looked in 4 stores, unsuccessfully, for a wood paper towel holder that would go on the wall. Shipping was prompt as well.

A fine product Jul 16, 2009

The towel holder matches my kitchen cabinets exactly. It is sturdy and well made. I would have liked it to be able to take a larger roll but I can't complain. It is exactly as promised.
oak paper towel holder May 09, 2012
By paul f. After searching the internet for just the right oak paper towel holder i came across this one. This one met my requirements, it was good looking, the right price, and it had cool spring loaded holding pins to hold the roll of towels in place. on paper this was exactly what i was looking for but after i got the thing mounted and went to install my first roll of towels i realized why this unit was such a good price. It must have been bring your retarded monkey to work so they can do your job day. I cant think of any other reason why the measurements would be so far off that you would have to deform the roll of paper towels just to get them in the holder but then the roll flopps from one side to the other. I expect this kind of quality from something marked made in china. If i would have known i would never have wasted my time and money on such a piece of garbage. This is a perfect case of buyer beware.
Does NOT Hold The Roll Apr 08, 2012
By Customer I don't know what happened but I use to have a really good towel holder that looked like this one about ten years ago but this one is a piece of junk. The towel holder is too wide and the paper towel rolls just fall right out. The only way is if you own a table saw you can take it apart and shave about a half inch from the back of it then reassemble but then you have the problem with the towels no retrackting back far enough to get the roll in. Overall this is a poor design.
