Easy to Install, Works Great Jul 06, 2010
By R. D. Collins I bought this to replace the old soap dispenser on our kitchen sink, which had worn out and for which I couldn't find a replacement pump mechanism that fit. Very easy to install. I just twisted the old one with a pair of ChannelLock pliers, which loosened the nut under the sink enough to remove it. After cleaning the built-up gunk from around the hole with a putty knife, I popped in the new soap dispenser, crawled under the sink and attached the large plastic wing nut that holds it in place, screwed on the plastic bottle, filled it with a soap solution (I use about 1 part liquid detergent to 2 parts water), dropped the pump into the hole, and voila! Each push squirts out about a teaspoon of soap solution, and unlike the old one, it doesn't lose its prime between uses.
True, the part that goes through the sink and the nut that holds the unit in place are plastic, or perhaps nylon of some sort, but it seems quite strong and durable. The exposed part is apparently enamel- or plastic-coated brass -- heavy and obviously strong -- and it looks great, with clean lines and not obtrusive. I expect it to last for years -- and if not, what the heck, it was only $35 from Amazon.
BTW, don't be concerned about the term "for Thick Tile" in the name of this product. Apparently that means the part that goes through the hole is longer than normal (it's about 3 inches long, whereas the same part on my old unit was only about 1 inch long), which allows it to be used with holes cut through granite or other thick counter tops. However, it works equally well with a normal sink -- you just have to tighten the nut a few more turns.

A little expensive for something with internal plastic construction Jun 12, 2009

This dispenser is attractive and works great.
However, should you ever need replacement parts, they are ridiculously expensive and you can only get them through Delta at their MFSR price + shipping and handling. Because of the exorbitant price of the parts I opted to purchase the entire assembly rather than just the two parts I needed. The reservior bottle is constructed of soft plastic, the stanchion it screws into is made of a thin and very brittle plastic. The bottle got stripped and the stanchion cracked...apparently the bottle does not need to be firmly screwed in--which is not mentioned in the instructions.
A more solid interior construction would be ideal especially for the purchase price...and Amazon's price was far better than everyone elses. 3 stars because the weak construction and outrageous price, otherwise it is a great product.

Typical Delta high quality Jan 10, 2010
By R J Made in the USA with a brushed satin nickel finish that matches my Delta faucet. Expensive...yes, but the quality is excellent and if you've just spent a bunch of money on a granite counter top, you'll probably want to spend the extra money on the matching accessory. By the way, on a technical note, this soap dispenser is also made for thick counter top applications (e.g., granite). I don't believe all soap dispensers can accomodate the thickness of certain counter tops, so this may be another reason to consider this dispenser.

Better than Kohler Nov 18, 2009
By Blissful_in_TX We have several of these soap dispensers throughout our house, and we bought 2 Kohler ones. We are now replacing them with these Delta dispensers. The Kohler takes 2 hands to use, and sometimes you have to pump it repeatedly to get anything out. These Delta work so much better!

Fill that extra hole. Apr 15, 2008
By L. Kyle When we upgraded kitchen faucets, we ended up with an extra hole in the sink. We could have used a plug, but something functional seemed even better. This dispenser matched the brushed stainless of our new faucet and provided easy access to dish soap without reaching in the cabinet or an ugly bottle of dishsoap on the counter.
