Much nicer than pictured Apr 06, 2010

All of my bathrooms have a beach/ocean/nautical decor. I saw this shower curtain and ensemble accessories in one of the many home decor catalogues I get in the mail; the price for this curtain was over $45.00 plus $9.95 shipping charges. I "googled" the designer, HAUTMAN, and found that Amazon.com lists his items. I paid just $29.99 + $7.99 shipping through Amazon.com and saved almost $17.00.
I expected this would be a typical "showy" decorative curtain; I am pleasantly surprised at the exceptionally high quality fabric and fine detail of this product! The picture doesn't do justice to this handsome shower curtain. And the price on Amazon's site can't be beat! Check out HAUTMAN's other scenic accessories....I know I will! Recommended to anyone with this type of theme in their home.

I was not happy with my old bathroom decorations that were perfect for my last apartment because they didn't realy match well with the primary color based wallpaper in my new apartment's bathroom, but I lived with this for several years. The theme of these decorations are seashells, but in pastels of pink, seafoam green, beige, pale blue, and white. I have lots of wall and cabinet decorations that mirror the seashell theme.
Recently, I purchased a few new decorations for my over-toilet cabinetry,which were a blue and white based lighthouse and a candle holder made to look like 3 pier supports. These are grouped. I liked this color combination with the tan seashells of other decorations. I decided I'd "lived with" the decorations that didn't quite go long enough and I looked for replacement shower curtain and accessories with a lighthouse theme.
I was mostly disappointed because these were not very interesting. Then I saw the "At the Beach" collection and was thrilled. I could have my blue lighthouse and my realistically colored sea shells that match the decorations I really liked and planned to keep.
The shower curtain is the perfect focus for my new bathroom. I have the blue lighthouse at the top and sand and sea shells and shore birds to enhance my new color scheme that focuses on the blues and sand colors.

Washes Well and is Even More Beautiful Than Photo Shows Apr 13, 2012

I didn't think the first photo did this curtain justice. On my monitor, it makes it look like there is more gray color than there actually is. There is gray but especially at the top of the curtain, there are heathery kind of blue colors as well. It's really pretty in person.
I uploaded a few more photos of the curtain that show the blue a little more. Also note the sandpiper with the orange beak: he has a bit of blue on his wings/back. He is 11 inches from the bottom of his feet to the top of his back and is approximately 26 inches from the tip of his beak to the tip of his tail feathers. Usually in beach scenes you always see seagulls so the sandpipers are a nice change and big enough to show some detail.
I love this curtain so much, I bought another recently because it's seems so durable that I'm afraid by the time the first one starts showing some wear that they won't be available anymore.
This curtain is a cotton/polyester blend fabric and it washes up really well. I've washed mine 4-5 times now then I threw it in the dryer on air dry but in the last 5 minutes I put it on low heat. It does sometimes need a bit of a touch up with an iron but I was able to do that in less than 10 minutes.
When I first hung the curtain we used it as is for a few days but I found a clear plastic liner at a very popular dept store (name starts with a "W" and rhymes with hall cart) for 5 smackers and I like it with the liner better.

Great Shower Curtain! Nov 03, 2011

I ordered this shower curtain, shower hooks, wastebasket, soap dispenser, and rug through a department store. I paid a lot higher for all my items than is currently offered through Amazon. Even though I paid much higher, I do not regret my purchase because these items look great in my beach home. The shower hooks, wastebasket, soap dispenser, and rug having the same beach scene matching perfectly with the shower curtain. I have had no trouble with the hooks sliding on the rod or having them fall off. The soap dispenser pumps out the right amount of soap and so far the colored nozzle has retained its color. I mounted the bath rug on my wall as a wall hanging completing my beach scene decor. The only problem I have is there is a window above and behind my shower that allows a large amount of light into the bathroom. Since the shower curtain is not lined and the light can be seen through the shower curtain, the beach scene gets washed out. I do have an almond liner, but eventually I will replace the liner with a darker color so the birds, water, and lighthouse will stand out. Great purchase. Just make sure you get the right liner for the shower curtain to get the full effect of the beach scene.

I ordered this shower curtain for our guest/baby bathroom. I love it! It gives it a sophisticated look without being overbearing. I don't agree with the people who say the print is too faded, mine is not! It's perfect. You will have to buy a waterproof liner with it.
