This item is even nicer than it seems in the picture, I love my new bed and it even came with the nice wooden slats (the ones that flex). Be careful though, make sure that you measure everywhere so that you can be sure that the frame can fit up the stairs or in your elevator. The frame is one solid piece and very big. But once its all set up it is great!!

This is by far the best bed frame I have ever owned. It actually saved my mattress. My previous setup included a framed on wheels, a box spring, and a mattress. With this bed, i was able to get rid of the box spring and frame and it added so much more support to my mattress (my old box spring was giving out). Whoever does the marketing for these beds should be fired. The pictures do it no justice and there is only one picture for the frame even on other websites, but it looks so much better in person.
Also it is not possible to see the "platform" from the one picture provided. This bed is actually 2 pieces. The first is the chrome frame, the second is the platform that just drops down into the frame. This platform is metal square tubing with rounded corners and about 28 wood slats (14 on each side of the center metal support beam). These slats bow up slightly so when you look at the platform it has a shape like a lower case m, but when you place a mattress on it they flatten out.
As previous posters have said, this bed and the box it comes in is HUGE!. I would say the box is about the size of a 6 inch thick King Size Mattress. It is also very heavy (150+ LBS) and since I live in a 3rd floor apartment, it was a struggle to get it upstairs.
Pros:
- Very Sturdy
- Quality build
- Very Good to look at
- Amazon once again gave me the best price around
- Looks like it will last for years
Cons:
- Delivery can be a hassle due to weight and size
- This is not delivered by UPS/Fed ex, because of its size, it was sent to my region by CEVA Logistics and then delivered by forward air, this made it hard to track
- As another review said, My bed arrived with some scratches as well, but there is no way I am going to repackage this thing and send it back
- Picture lies, it does not show the 4 legs that will run down the center and along the base of the platform (you can't use all the space for storage)
- Very heavy (this might not be a con as it gives stability to the bed)

I have had this bed for a while now and I must say it's one of the most comfortable I have ever had. Plus, being a platform bed, I can easily slide thin tubs under it for storage. I have so much more space in my room and the bed is just a beauty to look at. If this bed ever wears down, which it shows no sign of doing anytime soon, I will definitely purchase another!!

Sweet bed - watch out for crawlers Sep 19, 2011

I got this bed based on the reviews I saw on here and I'm glad I did. The bed is very sturdy and a true beauty to look at. It came in a lot of packaging (probably why it was in such excellent condition). It took me a good 45 minutes to get all the packaging off and then another twenty minutes and some chipped walls later, I had the parts down in the basement. Word of caution: since the bed is tubular, it makes a great hiding place for all those centipedes and other creepy crawlies that reside in the warehouse. I saw two centipedes crawl out of the bed as I was setting it up. Of course I spent another 30 minutes shaking all the bed parts like a mad man but nothing else came out. About an hour later, the bed was all set up. The instructions are pretty straight forward. I strongly recommend the Modern Streamlined Glossy Silver Finish Metal Night Stand. They make a great combo.

This bed was very easy to put together. Comes with an allen wrench, that's all you need. Very sturdy. I have a 17" mattress on it, so some of the head board middle rail is seen and the top rail, but I am extremely please with the quality and service from the seller. Packing was excellent.
