Lighter weight for arthritic hands Dec 23, 2006
By Delores Liesner These were just what we were looking for and we really like them. We prefer a lighter weight and appreciate the modern styling. Our set had no flaws and we are very pleased with the quality.
Teaspoons disappear though and we'd love to find replacements.

Very Satisfied Nov 16, 2008
By Desiree Hicks I ordered this as a present for my mother. It arrived with zero damage and in perfect condition as if I were to buy it from the store. The flatware was beautiful and in great condition and just as described as told. Very pleased.

Cambridge Flatware - Simple, serviceable, affordable Feb 28, 2009

I needed some new everyday flatware for my kitchen - too many knives from the old set disappeared from leaving them in pizza boxes, I guess. My daughters had recently given me some iced tea spoons from Cambridge Silversmiths that were kind of what I had in mind. I couldn't find any similar sets in retail stores, so I checked out Amazon. Sure enough, they had a ones in a very similar pattern - Maddison.
This is very utilitarian every-day flatware, with no pattern, but an attractive brushed stainless steel finish. The 65 pieces include service for 12 in knives, dinner & salad forks, tablespoons and teaspoons, plus one each of these serving pieces - meat fork, slotted spoon, serving spoon, butter knife & sugar spoon. All you need if you're setting up an apartment and intend to entertain once in a while.
Good value for the price, and quality seems decent, though not the heaviest gauge steel (won't last in the garbage disposal, I'd bet!) Delivery was in three days, as promised.
Rusted after 1 wash!!! Horrible Quality! Apr 23, 2012

I bought the 89 piece version of this set, same silverware but with more pieces. I got this set because it was affordable, was a style I liked, and of course dishwasher safe. I was excited to have such a complete set of flatware, with matching serving utensils and everything. The box specifically says "dishwasher safe," they are made from stainless steal, and I have had my dishwasher for a while and have never had issues with it before or since. The first time I wash all the silverware they rusted along the edges. After ONE wash. I chalked it up to a bad batch of silverware, and returned it to the store where I got another new set in exchange. The first thing I do is put them in the dishwasher (mixed with some of my old silverware, just to be sure it's not my dishwasher causing the problem). Sure enough, this new batch rusted too, along the edges. And my older set of silverware did not. So this time I call up Cambridge directly. They were very nice, and mailed to me at no cost a 3rd set of flatware. Once I got it in the mail I put it immediately in the dishwasher (again, with other pieces of my old set to make sure I'm being fair), and yet again a 3rd time they rusted along the edges, and my older flatware did not. I am getting my money back and never buying from this company again. Their customer service people were very nice, they were willing to work with me and polite, but I'm not buying customer service only, I'm buying a flatware set that should be able make it through one dishwasher cycle without rusting. I cannot help but doubt the quality on any of their other products after 3 sets of rusting silverware.
Just as an added note, that older set I used to make sure my dishwasher wasn't causing the problem was Oneida (my in-laws gave them to me after having used them for over 20+ years, still in great shape!), which will be the brand I am buying with the money I get back on this bad batch of flatware. They are more expensive, but obviously worth it.
