Nice little bowls Dec 05, 2009
By Keith Pearce They may seem a little small to some, but as the other reviewer stated, they are great for portion control & will hold about a half a cup. The little handle is what really sets these apart from other custard bowls & makes them so easy to handle. During shipping one of them had a tiny chip on the edge, but the rest were in perfect condition. I sanded the chip & now the cat eats in style. Another positive is that unlike most other dishes these clear glass ones are free from toxic lead.

Dipping Bowls - awesome Nov 15, 2009
By crenguet These dipping bowls are handy to have around for lots of uses. They are made of thick, durable glass, so they work great to warm things in the microwave, they do not break easily, and they are easy to grab. I use them for ingredient prep bowls, used tea bags, small servings of cottage cheese, or keeping a small bowl of sunflower seeds nearby for a small snack. They are great for portion control or keeping wet side dishes from leaking all over your plate. They are worth every penny!

Beautiful and functional. Mar 18, 2010
By Shannon L. Toohey Very beautiful glass bowls. Small and I bought them to prep spices/herbs etc in the kitchen. The little handle is awesome for handling, althought I wish they poured liquid a little better. They aren't great for pouring small amounts of oil into a salad dressing or anything like that, but they are fine for everything else.
Lovely addition to my kitchen.

I love them so much I bought a second set, but be careful of using them in the microwave Dec 06, 2010
By Timothy B. Riley I have a set on nesting bowls from France that I often use for prep work, but I wanted a set of bowls that were all one size. These fit the bill and are great for:
* Prep work - I load them up with all of my herbs, spices, grated cheese, condiments, etc. before I start to cook and it really makes things go faster.
* Sauces - One of my friends in particular has a thing for "on-the-side". Whether it's a sauce, some gravy or a salad dressing, she wants it served separately. When she first saw these bowls she said, "Awww... did you buy those for when you cook for me?" I replied, "Sure, just for you!"
* Dipping - Seasoned Olive Oil, Thai Peanut Sauce, dip for chips or even butter for seafood, it works well for all but the biggest eater.
* Condiments or toppings - Not everyone wants the same amount of mayonnaise, sour cream or hot sauce on their food. By setting them out in these bowls they not only look cute but it is also very practical.
The handle on the bowls are a nice touch as well. The only negative that I have run into is that one of my bowls broke in half when I was warming something up in it in the microwave. I won't do that again.
All in all, I love my little bowls (both sets) and will be buying more for Christmas gifts.

Great as Prep Bowls! Mar 30, 2010
By J. Sharp I bought these bowls for my wife because she does a lot of cooking that requires many small ingredients to be added at different times. She uses these bowls like prep bowls, putting each spice or ingredient in a bowl so that she can quickly add it to her recipe whenever it is needed. The handle also makes for a great way to grip the bowls when adding the contents to a dish. I would definitely recommend these bowls to anyone who gets frustrated with recipes that call for spices added with precision timing.
