Personal Notebook Dec 02, 2008
By Henry Tran For this price point, this notebook is perfect.
It is fountain pen friendly (Relatively. sometimes ink takes a bit to dry, but this is negligible), has information pages that include maps, time zones, and an ownership page, and has a nice ribbon.
Unfortunately, my ribbon fell off when I ripped it off (which is to be expected when ripping things...) but this notebook is an absolute joy to use.

My note-taker buddy, Black n' Red :) May 26, 2010

Black n' Red happens to be standard issue in my office. I always preferred the casebound notebooks because most of the notes I take I want to keep and a casebound, hardcover is what's proper for me. I am using these little notebooks whenever I expect I'll have to take notes at a working lunch and anywhere I can afford to go without having to carry a laptop or the larger Black 'n Red notebook.
I always expect quality and convenience from Black n' Red and this is what I am getting with these notebooks. In addition to the lined sheets you get a date planner, 3 year calendars, a personal info. sheet, various conversion tables, maps, time zones info., even the subway maps of 4 major US cities.
Another positive: it fits well inside my laptop case.
I am happy that my office supplies me with these notebooks. They look stylish and they are, in fact, well made, of good quality materials.

High quality notebooks Sep 26, 2010
By Veppers I really like these picks - they are great notebooks that have a more permanent feel to them than your normal notebooks. And they look good stacked on a shelf for future reference. So I'll be purchasing more in large quantities everytime a new semester rolls around.
Now as to what I write inside ... well, that all depends on how much coffee I've had that morning :)

What more could you ask for? Jun 18, 2010

In the world of notebooks, this should reign supreme. Admittedly, I was biased going into this experiment -- I am a devoted laptop note-taker, but have long been plagued by the diversions that abound with that method. Last semester I decided to use this notebook as my only way of taking notes, and I surprised myself.
This notebook is great in its simplicity. Its most trendy, fancy (read: useless) aspect is the ribbon which saves your page -- besides a few non-obtrusive pages in the back containing more or less irrelevant information. There is also a large pocket on the back cover which has come to my rescue numerous times. Most of all, this notebook just has a solid, reliable feel. It has a hardcover, which is not typical of most notebooks this size, and the pages are thick enough to feel good in your hands and take on the ink quick enough for fast writers. To be fair, I have seen some gel-rollers (Uniballs, in particular) inconsistently bleed here, but I'm pretty sure those things would bleed on construction paper, too. The covers stay open well enough that writing on either side feels about the same (not unbalanced or unnatural as some, even larger notebooks sometimes feel like), and there is just enough space on the page to really feel comfortable writing, sketching, or doing some math.
Moleskins be damned! Buck the trend with a Black n' Red.

Great Book Nov 15, 2009
By Matthew Wilson

This is the perfect size. Nice construction. The paper is a bit thicker, which works great with my gel ink pens so the ink doesn't bleed through. The built in book mark is useless--fell out with a tiny tug. I'd recommend highly.
