Backwards Clock - special circumstances require this item Jul 29, 2009
By Aggie '61 I have a special circumstance where I need to read a clock in a mirror.
I bought the backwards running clock; but I needed to make a modification. I printed a standard clock face "in mirror image" with my PC. I removed the lens and clock hands of the clock. Then I pasted the reverse image on the clock, and replaced the hands and lens.
So...I now have a clock that is both backwards reading and runs counter clockwise. It is perfect in the mirror.
This is an unusual application; but it works perfectly for me.

I would love to order a lot of these for gifts but without being to choose which color I receive I will have to go with another vendor.

Works perfectly, but loud. Feb 14, 2011
By Chris Flores This is labeled as a gag/joke clock, but I bought it as an actual use clock. To that end, it's great. I use it in the bathroom where my mirror spans the entire wall. When I put the clock up on the opposite side, I can see the time perfectly. It runs on a cheap AA battery and works just fine. There are two minor things that you should note when buying this clock for my purposes:
1. It's loud! The second hand makes an incredible ticking noise that can penetrate my bathroom door and into the bedroom. Mind you, I'm the type that loves this kind of droning, persistent sound, so I was surprised in a good way. However, if you plan to have it in any kind of living space where you will be spending a lot of time, consider the fact that it's a loud ticker.
2. If you plan to actually use it as a clock, the only other drawback is that it has "incorrectly" placed numbers. I put that in quotations because when you look at it, it looks like a regular clock, but if you put it in the mirror, the numbers are backwards. I love analog clocks and don't really need the numbers, so I can still tell the time easily, but having backwards numbers can sometimes be a little distracting. Since this is a fairly cheap clock, you can easily take of the plastic cover and replace the numbers on your own.

I showed this clock to a friend of mine and he didn't know what time it was. I like stuff like this that exercises the brain.
