ORANGE IS THE FINE POINT MODEL AND BLUE IS THE MEDIUM POINT Dec 26, 2006
By Heather L. Parisi
"Robert and Heather Parisi"
I PREFER THE FINE-POINT BUT: [& the same refill for the past 17 months]
I prefer the fine point model for my special use which involves record keeping and using ledgers. The medium point works just as well, and most people who may want to write letters or teachers that grade papers may prefer it. I have been using the same refill daily for 1 year and 5 months and all 4 colors still work! WOW!
WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT:
These inexpensive pens are comfortable, write well, are sturdy, and are available in fine point as well as medium and come with affordable refills.
For me, the primary reason for buying a 4-color pen was to record two separate sets of charted data: weather records and medical charts. For the past several years I have actually carried pens of many colors basically for the task of color coding sets of data. Sounds silly, but it makes reading rows of like-looking data easier and sets certain types of entries apart. Actually this is a necessity for people who record data like myself.
TIME FOR A QUICK ANECDOTE:
I was reluctant about buying this pen because my experience with Bic multi-colored pens goes back to the 1960s when such pens were a low-quality novelty. Although these new products look much like those I recall long ago, they are more precisely made, feel better when writing, and have a much steadier head than their 60's counterparts. They also are now available with refills so that if a color quits on me I can just go to my desk instead of the store for a quick fix. The models are color coded as well, with medium point models having a blue barrel with a white top and fine points coming in orange with a white top -- a nice touch for an excellent pen.
BOTTOM LINE: WELL BUILT - COMFORTABLE + 4 COLORS = MOST USEFUL PEN
All in all, this is a great product and an incredible value!

Four BIC pens in one Feb 02, 2008
By K. W. Schreiter This box contains a total of twelve individually packaged 4-color BIC ball point pens. The six blue-shelled pens (as shown in the Amazon photo) are medium point and the six orange-shelled ones are fine point. Each pen features retractable red, blue, green and black inks. Readily having four colors at once is useful for any number of professions including engineers, nurses, teachers, etc. I've also used this to add color to newspaper charts and stock listings. I could not find any of these pens at my local Target or Office Depot so I ordered this box of twelve from Amazon. Refills are also available, but as other reviewers have noted, the box of refills is currently more expensive than a box of brand new pens. Beat the shipping costs and order these in bulk: put a few in a drawer and give the extra pens to your friends.

What a great buy!! Aug 15, 2006
By L. Lenz
"RN"
I use these pens all the time as I am a RN. I have recommended this site to purchase them to all my RN friends. It is 1/4 of the price we pay at the store here. This is a good product, and buying the pens here is cheaper than buying the refills!! Keep up the good work, Amazon!!

Always loved these Sep 13, 2009
By Gail I've been using these pens since high school. I love the convenience of having all the colors all the time. I do tend to run out of green fastest though. I bought this twelve count box with half medium point and half fine point and issued pens to my kids in high school and middle school and my husband for work and I use mine for school, bills, and all that stuff. Love them. Think their great. Will probably never use anything else.
