FABULOUS RESULTS IF YOU USE IT CORRECTLY! Mar 05, 2006
By J. Arena People who claim that the One Sweep Broom doesn't work, just didn't use it correctly. Taking short, firm sweeps on carpet, always pulling the broom toward you, it pulls out imbedded dust and hair that my vacuum left behind. Also, I must tell you that I used the One Sweep only days after having my carpet professionally cleaned, and it STILL pulled out hair from the fibers!
Make no mistake, it requires that you put physical effort into the process. However, the results are nothing short of miraculous. The debris does not easily float into your dustpan. Remember, you are ridding yourself of stuff that lingers due to tangling and static electricity. The secret is to work in small sections -- finish one area before moving on to the next.
The result is absolutely amazing and worth every bit of energy expended.

Does many things well Aug 05, 2005
By J. Vincent I don't know about pet hair specifically, but I know that the one sweep works extremely well for gathering junk off carpet, esPecially pilling. Our apartment's carpet pills horribly (you know, those little fuzz balls), but after using the one sweep to "sweep" the carpet (which is weird to do), it has not pilled at all and it has been several months (where it used to pill every 3 weeks-ish).
The one sweep is also a great mop (the only contraption with a stick handle that rivals hand scrubbing), although it is not absorbant and you do have to use the squeegy side to sweep it into a puddle and soak that up with a sponge or paper towel. I prefer this to an absorbant mop because those get cruddy and they take a while to dry sitting in the sink, and they eventually smell bad and get hard because you can never get all the soap and stain out of them but you spend like 10 minutes trying. Plus, they take up so much damn space.
I recommend the one sweep highly for kitchen and bathroom floors, and pilling carpet. And though I haven't tried it yet, it seems like it would work very well for washing the car (especially the roof and windows) because it lathers quite well and scrubs gently (it's a lot like a toothbrush on teeth). I really like my one sweep.

Awesome for picking up hair! May 27, 2006

My lovely fiance is wonderful, however her long hair tends to be rather prevalent through the floor of my carpeted apartment...to the point that, while not paying attention, it had wrapped around the roller on my vacuum cleaner causing it to melt from the extra friction. I was able to replace the roller, but picked on of these One Sweeps up to see if I could avoid a repeat catastrophe (I didn't point out to her that this is advertised as for pet hair).
A few quick passes around the room and wads of hair were easily gathered up. (The trick is to pull in short strokes towards you.) Along with that, all kinds of lint, excess carpet fuzz, and random other things all got caught up in the process. Quick and easy, and the carpet looks so much better already, and I haven't even gotten to vacuum it yet!

When the vacuum didn't work Jan 07, 2006
By N. Fontane My vacuum was apparantly too cheap because it never cleaned the hairs from my thick carpet. After using the One Sweep once, all the hairs that had fallen in 5 months came up. This One Sweep is a lifesaver. I was embarrassed because my crappy vacuum just pushed the hairs into little clumps on the carpet.

Bum Sweep Dec 20, 2004
By Joseph A. Weaks I bought the broom because the demo video really was extraordinary. But buyer beware.
1. It does NOT work well on carpet. I have mucho dog/cat hair to clean up, but it wouldn't pick up any. This is the main reason I purchased the broom.
2. The ability to use for wet cleaning floors is not especially effective. For one, since it does not absorb, all you do is scoot water around.
3. It gets a couple stars because it does do ok on grout/tile.
I unfortunately bought it from the dealer direct, paying quite high shipping as well.
