Not well made Mar 10, 2008
By Rachael E. Schwartz

I don't recommend this cruet set. The stoppers are too fat and don't fit into the openings. As a result, they wobble around on top and fall off easily. I would not have bought this set had I known about this problem.

seems fragile and wobby lid Apr 08, 2008
By T. Dang One was broken upon receipt. I feel like it will break when i put the stopper on. The stopper wobbles and doesn't seal well. Definitely not labware stuff. drips when pouring. I will mod the topper but I'm still fearful the neck/lip is too fragile if you wanted to make a good seal.

Returned Upon Receipt; "Hand Blown" versus "Hand Crafted" Feb 24, 2012
By John P. Thiel
"John T."
The product page says these are made of "hand blown" glass. They are not. The sticker on the product says "hand crafted" and "Made in China." The difference is that hand blown glass does not use any kind of machine whereas "hand crafted" simply means that at some point in the manufacturing process a human being does some sort of hand finishing work. It's like when you see a "homemade" label on a product in a grocery; it's not actually home cooking.
The cruets in the picture are not the product that came in the box. For one, the stoppers have plastic on them whereas the ones in the photo are all glass. The glass on the product is extremely thin, whereas the glass in the photo is thicker. I wouldn't try putting the actual ones I received in the dishwasher.
But if the inaccuracies weren't enough, the cruets inside the box were encrusted with dust, and so was the box that they came in. These two cruets were obviously on a shelf for a very long time and never cleaned. So on top of not being hand blown glass, they also were not factory sealed.
Returned with extreme prejudice. "Sold by MMP LLC" and fulfilled by Amazon.

Great Cruet Set Oct 17, 2011
By KitchenGuru This is a great cruet set. The other customers complained about the lack of a seal, but most oil pourers/cruets never fully seal (they either have an open stem, or no stem at all), so I didn't take issue with this. The stoppers that come with the set, which are not designed to be jammed in the cruet, sit nicely on top of the cruets, preventing any dust particles from entering. By no means do the stoppers create enough of a seal to allow you to turn them upside down. If you are looking for a mobile cruet this one isn't for you. Another reviewer complained about breakage. Remember, you are ordering glass, which is shipping through the mail, sometimes thousands of miles, so some breakage is expected. In fact, one of my cruets arrived broken, but I called the vendor I bought it from and they sent me out another set at no charge. Overall this is a solid cruet set listed at a more than fair price.
